"Oh, I already got one of those... Except it's wooden and does have a sail..." replied Tuggington "What?" responded Frank "Yeah, an old man gave it to me after I save his daughter, his son actually joined up with my crew, might have been Churchill actually, can't remember, but we use it when exploring islands with reefs too shallow for the Dreadnought..." answered Tuggington "Show it to me then please" asked Frank "Of course... Follow me..." said Tuggington as the two left for the salvage yard The duo talked to Pett and he had some crewmen fetch the rather small boat, a bit smaller than the Saltash but could hold just as many men, and Frank looked on in amazement...

"The engine is not quite as big as what we are putting in our ships, but the principles are the same" Frank observed as he looked it over.
They talked about it for a while before heading back to the Sons of Freedom headquarters. They decided that night, they would lay low- no doubt the Crastvin would be out searching for whoever caused the explosion last night.
Next day, the think tank from the Sons of Freedom met with the engineers of Tuggington's crew. There was one advancement that did impress Tuggington's crew right away.
"Wait, you figured out how to contain the shot and powder into one cartridge?" One man said, impressed.
"Not just for cannons, but for guns too. Hey Frank, you want to do the honors?" One of the think tank members asked.
"Sure" Frank said as a target was set up. Then he showed Tuggington's crew the weapon.
"This is what will render flintlock pistol's obsolete; you're looking at the first "revolving pistol" courtesy of Mr. Colt over there"
Colt stood up for a moment before sitting down again. Frank then proceeded to fire six shots without reloading.
"Gentlemen... the future of firearms" Mr. Colt said proudly.

"You got anything for boarding? If we had something like cartridges for ropes, taking ships might be easier honestly..." asked Tuggington

"We had similar designs in mind for scaling walls... but they never really went anywhere so we abandoned those plans" one man explained.
"Speaking of which, check out my design for a rifle" Mr. Winchester said as he revealed his weapon. His "lever action rifle" proceeded to shoot off 15 rounds without reloading.
"Why can't we have more of those?" One man asked.
"Too expensive and cannot be mass produced practically" Mr. Winchester explained.
"Which is why I have designed a single shot breech loading rifle than can be produced quicker and cheaper in the mean time" another man said, revealing what he called the "Sharps rifle" to everyone.
"Single shot and breechloading; but the firing rate will give us a substantial advantage over the Crastvin and the Empire" he explained; they were still using muzzle loading flintlock pistols, muskets and rifles.
Another man showed off a rather interesting weapon. His "shotgun" was a substantial improvement over the Blunderbuss; the double barrel allowing two shots to go off.
And finally, there was Dr. Gatling.
"I don't have it quite figured out yet, but this weapons will have the firepower of a battalion of men" he explained, showing off the designs for the Gatling gun.
"Well, that's a sample of our work so far, what kind of things do you have?" Frank asked Tuggington's men.

"Well there's the flare gun from a while back, Churchill's designs for the tank, our cannon platform, things called 'paddle wheels', Hunley came up with a thing called a 'submarine', probably some other weaponry, and my surgeon Bass Grammont has made advancements in prosthetics, with me as living proof..." replied Tuggington
"Aye I have indeed..." answered Grammont

"Prosthetics you say? What a coincidence, you and I have something in common" Frank said, showing off his false leg (recall; Frank lost his left leg from just below the knee down)
"Our doctors also have made some medical advancements for example you may be surprised to hear that we no longer use Calomel (mercury) or alcohol as forms of medicine" Frank explained.
"How far along are you with your submarine designs? We've got a basic one, but we just can't figure out..." one man said, showing what they had designed up until that point.

"Hunley and another man Garrett on my crew designed it to be made out of iron, have a few portholes, and masts with sails that can be risen if the engine fails, they were looking into using alcohol to power it, since they said a steam engine would make it too hot for an inclosed space underwater like it would be..." replied Tuggington

"Interesting, though perhaps we can..."
Just then, the meeting was interrupted. "Frank, can I talk to you please?" asked Jacob, one of the leaders.
"Oh, certainly; uh, beg pardon Tuggington, this is important" Frank said.
......
"I need to do what?" Frank asked.
"Our scouts said they just returned to their base and this is a good time to test out those new weapons. Now go- the Huntsmen need to be stopped before they kill someone important" he explained.
"Right" Frank said
......
"Sorry Tuggington, but duty calls; we've got an opportunity to deal with one of the factions and test out the new weapons; two birds with one stone. Right! Move out lads, let's make our think tank proud!" Frank called out. he lead 40 men, who were armed with the "new guns" and they also brought along the cannon, now on a cart.
"I wonder what Tuggington will do to kill time?" Frank thought to himself

While we are waiting; guess I'll do another world building post:
THE CRASTVIN FAMILY
For the last 150 years, the Crastvin Family has been in charge of East Gartun, ruling the island as a mixture of autocrats, authoritarians, plutocrats and aristocracy.
Despite the sizeable population of 250,000 on East Gartun, the Crastvin family used every dirty trick in the book to both secure their position and power, and bleed East Gartun dry while they and a select few prospered.
The "nobility" of East Gartun is a mere 10,000 members of the population, and live in a very built up, clean part of the island. The Crastvin Family themselves lives on a luxurious estate known as "The Hill" and reside on a high point of the island, from which they can see the whole of East Gartun. "The Hill" is surrounded by a series of smaller estates where the rest of the East Gartun "nobility" live.
Through heavy taxation and other exploitative measures, the remaining 240,000 people have been brought to either the brink of poverty, or are just barely getting by. Infrastructure all over East Gartun has suffered; bridges are either in poor condition or have collapsed all together, shantytowns cover almost all of the western part of the island and are home to 80,000 people alone. The remaining 160,000 members of the population do not fare much better. Although they live in small houses, farms or "community apartments" (apartments they own rather than rent) the standard of living is not very high; they make enough money to have food on the table and pay off their taxes, but their is little left afterwards. Caring little about the people, the Crastvin infamously build statues and monuments all over the island celebrating various members of the family while around around said monuments, homes and businesses are in a dilapidated state.
The Crastvin directly own most of the major resources on the island, appointing other members of the "nobility" to over see the lumber forests, iron mines, coal mines, farms, etc and the workers in them.
While some members of the nobility are fair and give workers fair hours and wages, the majority by for are no better than the Crastvin family themselves, exploiting workers for long hours and low pay.
Despite answering to the Sandici Family, the Sandici themselves are very "hands off" with East Gartun and the current ruler, Martin Sandici, is the only one to show true concern for the people in the Empire's 150 year history- though current situations make it that there is little he can do about East Gartun
The Crastvin family know that their deep roots and friendship with the Sandici for the last 150 years are stronger than any concerns Martin may have, and relish in their power and authority.
These last 5 years have seen the rise of numerous revolutionary factions; but the Crastvin show little concern, since the factions spend just as much time fighting among each other as well as against the Crastvin

And here's another world-building post:
Given the enormous resentment for the Crastvin Family on East Gartun, the people of the island have formed various revolutionary factions which are determined to liberate East Gartun from both the Crastvin and the Empire as a whole.
Though the many factions have different ideologies, there is something a good deal of them share: the desire for independence and freedom from the Crastvin.
Popular among many of the factions is the song "A Nation Once Again" (NOTE: With slightly altered lyrics to remove Ireland specific stuff; and it works in context when you think about it)
When boyhood's fire was in my blood I read of ancient freemen, For East Gartun who bravely stood, Three hundred men and three men; And then I prayed I yet might see Our fetters rent in twain, And our land, long a province, be. A Nation once again!
A Nation once again, A Nation once again, And our land, long a province, be A Nation once again!
And from that time, through wildest woe, That hope has shone a far light, Nor could love's brightest summer glow Outshine that solemn starlight; It seemed to watch above my head In forum, field and fane, Its angel voice sang round my bed, A Nation once again!
A Nation once again, A Nation once again, And our land, long a province, be A Nation once again!
It whisper'd too, that freedom's ark And service high and holy, Would be profaned by feelings dark And passions vain or lowly; For, Freedom comes from God's right hand, And needs a Godly train; And righteous men must make our land A Nation once again!
A Nation once again, A Nation once again, And our land, long a province, be A Nation once again!
So, as I grew from boy to man, I bent me to that bidding My spirit of each selfish plan And cruel passion ridding; For, thus I hoped some day to aid, Oh, can such hope be vain ? When my dear country shall be made A Nation once again!
A Nation once again, A Nation once again, And our land, long a province, be A Nation once again!

"That damn brat of mine! If it wasn't for that 'incident', I bet who would have been an admiral by now, even if I don't like the path he chose... That criminal fool will be thrown in prison by my own two damn hands when I see that damn ungrateful ingrate! I wonder how 'she' will react when he makes his moves, I know he my brat has motives, but what I can't tell yet... AH DAMNIT, THAT LITTLE BASTARD IS MAKING ME WORRY!! GAH!! SOMEONE FETCH ME HAREKETT, I NEED A WEAPON TO SHOOT MY BASTARD CHILD WITH!!!"

EPISODE 10 Frank's group marched upon the headquarter's for the Huntsmen; the four snipers were about to experience the future of firearms firsthand. As they sat in their house, suddenly they heard a loud bang; the breech loading cannon had fired a shot and purposefully missed to get them riled up. "What the?!" The leader of the huntsmen declared. "Huntsmen, your reign of terror and unrestricted sniping of innocents ends here! Surrender now or you will be wiped out!" Frank declared as he and many other men took positions, ready to test out their new firearms. The huntsmen readied their muzzle loading rifles, and responded by shooting and wounding four of Frank's men. "You'll all be dead when we are done!" The Huntsmen leader shouted as the four reloaded. "So be it! Gentlemen, Fire!" Frank shouted. 35 men were armed with Sharps rifles and another 5 were armed with winchesters (one of them Frank) as they unloaded into the house. The Hunstmen were shocked; no gun could fire off that many bullets in a minute! "They'll run out of ammunition fast enough boys! Just shoot them when they're reloading!" The leader said as he went to take another shot. The huntsmen were lead by 53 year old Daniel Jones; a former soldier of the Empire's army who had grown disillusioned with them due to the Crastvin's tyranny. With him was his 22 year old nephew Steven, and then there were two like minded fellows who joined them: 34 year old Harold Jarvis, and 31 year old Gregory Bolt. Though they were all greatly skilled with their muzzle loading rifles, nothing could have prepared them for a situation like this. ...... In a field somewhere, another faction face off was beginning; The 14 members of the Cult of Timeria were facing down the 18 members of the Aderlos. "You will pay for encroaching on Aderlos' land; we shall spill your blood and make Aderlos proud!" The Aderlos leader declared as his faction cheered. "This is the land of Timeria, and we will see that it is returned to him!" The Timeria leader declared as his faction declared. "HAIL ADERLOS!" "FOR TIMERIA!" And the two groups charged at each other with their melee weapons, determined to wipe out the opposing cult. ...... Some of Tuggington's men were out doing reconnaissance work when suddenly, one fell to the ground, wounded by an arrow. "What the?" One of the men said as they looked up; they saw a man on a horse, he put his crossbow on his back and drew a saber as he was joined by three others. They way they were dressed seemed to give the feeling they were supposed to be ghosts of some sort. "You will pay for your sins! The end of time as come, and all shall fall before us!" The leader said before rearing his horse. "THE FOUR HORSEMEN!" One man screamed in terror as they dispersed and tried to get away; they had heard what these men could do and were determined to make themselves scarce; but a man cannot outrun a horse (NOTE: These are "lower" crew of Tug's ship; easily replaceable, but if tug has other ideas, they'll find a way to save themselves) ...... Tuggington was out for a walk... when he was confronted by a group of very strong, physically imposing men. "And who might you fine men be?" Tuggington asked. "We're the Sons of Kratos... and we aim to prove that only the strong can rule this island" the biggest said, cracking his knuckles. "Care to fight me?" He asked. Tuggington, seeing an opportunity, had an idea. "Ok, I'll fight you, on one condition- if I win, you guys work for me" Tuggington said, reasoning that these 900 could be swayed to see things the way of the Sons of Freedom. "Fine by me... not that it matters, cause you're not going to win!" He said. The two charged at each other and proceeded to exchange blows. Suddenly, Tug took a hard blow to the gut. The large man grinned... and so did Tuggington. "Wow... I actually felt that... I'm impressed, been a while since anyone's pulled something like that off" Tuggington stated.

But the man pulled back his fist, it now bleeding and throbbing with pain never felt before...
"GAH! What are you, made of metal?" asked the large man
"You thugs should do your research before you fight a man called, the 'Metal Monster', now if you want the strong to lead, then enjoy the beginning of my reign!" shouted Tuggington as he beat all of them, except one, into unconsciousness...
"Now, tell me where your leader is..."

Ironwood was asking forcing Harkett to make him a weapon.
"It must be the greatest weapon built by man!!" he cried.
"Alright, give me some time, even I can't build things in five seconds!"
Just then Diesel walked. "Hullo, hullo, hullo, now what's all this then?"
"This is no concern of yours Diesel! Stay out of this!"

A WORLD-BUILDING POST BY 1,000 EYES
The Big Four's Relation To Martin Sandici
You're likely wondering how the Big Four came together and how well they know the leader of the Sandici family (and the Aderan Empire). Well wonder no more โ this is how Martin Sandici met the members of the Big Four.
General Habour Ironwood Ironwood was a normal soldier who had risen to the ranks of General, and was proud of being a member of the Aderan Empire's army. However, when his son Tuggington became a pirate, he swore to kill his son to prove his worth. After defeating several of the Empire's enemies, he became noticed by the Sandici and became a member of the Big Four.
Minster Frederick Fraude Originally, the Fraude's were the butlers to the Sandici family, but when Frederick helped create one of the greatest military plans in history, he was able to become a minster and member of the Big Four. Though his sleeziness does worry Martin, and for good reason, and Fraude might just have ulterior motives....
Admiral David "1,000 Eyes" Diesel David Diesel was an old schoolmate of Martin Sandici, coming from an aristocratic family, he was with Sandici since kindergarten, becoming Martin's best friend and never left his side. After Tuggington humiliated him once, he swore to defeat all pirates, and especially Tuggington, and a 'deal with the devil', from which his nickname came from, should help him out...
Head Scientist Sidd Harekett Diesel and Martin Sandici met Sidd Harekett in college, and were amazed by the young man's wisdom. Despite being very much an introvert, he quickly became a good friend to the both of them, and when Sandici became ruler of the Aderan Empire, he brought both Diesel and Harekett on board as members of the Big Four.
Sandici would trust Diesel and Harekett with his life if need be, though Fraude and Ironwood, not so much....

EPISODE 11 Admiral Diesel landed on East Gartun I one of his smaller, less noticeable ships. Having never actually set foot on the island itself, he decided it was best to scout ahead and see what the island was like. He found himself on the Western part of the island, and walking through shantytown after shantytown after shantytown. He saw the places where they worked, and witnesses the cruelty of some of the "noble" business bosses first hand. As he came into the towns, what saw him rather confused him; block after block of dilapidated homes and businesses, with clean monuments and statues here and there celebrating various members of the Crastvin family "This is an economic center of the Empire? But why is it so..." he thought to himself, before being interrupted by someone. "Admiral Diesel?" A man asked. "Yes?" He replied. "Oh, my! My sincerest apologies! Had I known you were coming today I would have sent you an escort, you must have been lost for hours! Please, let me take you to The Hill, he will be honored to see you". He said leading Admiral Diesel out of the dilapidated town. "Thank you, uh..." "Oh, that's right, it's your first time on this island. Forgive me, let me introduce myself- Elijah Crastvin at your service. You probably haven't heard of me, but you know my father Bernard? The current ruler of this island". Elijah said. "Quite" Admiral Diesel said as they made their way to The Hill It was a completely different world. The Admiral now found himself in a very clean, built up and luxurious part of the island. The estates were quite grand, to say the least. But the grandest was just coming up. "That is The Hill; marvelous, isn't it?" Elijah asked. "Come, my father will be honored to meet you" he continued. "Quick question- how do you know me if I've never set foot on East Gartun?" Admiral Diesel asked. "Father has portraits of the Big Four and Sandici family members hanging in his study" Elijah explained. "It's a completely different would here" Admiral Diesel thought, looking at the town where the "nobility" of East Gartun lived

(Frank, just want to know, Bernard Crastvin is a villain, but how about Elijah? If he became ruler of East Gartun, would you be fine with that, or is he bad too?)
"So your father is a big admirer of us?"
"Oh yes, he's been interested in your escapades since you began your 'quest'."
"I see."

(Elijah is one of four sons of Bernard; Bernard has 4 sons and 2 daughters. I intend that two of Bernard's children are "disillusioned" with the Crastvin rule, but have not decided who yet. The Crastvin family is who the revolutionaries want to overthrow, but the Sons of Freedom will show mercy to those who deserve it. I intend to show the whole Crastvin family during your visit)
Eventually they came to The Hill, and Elijah escorted Admiral Diesel to Bernard Crastvin's study
"Admiral Diesel, my father Bernard, and my mother Catherine" Elijah introduced.
"Admiral David Diesel, what an honor it is to finally meet you" Bernard said cordially as he shakes his hand.

"The feeling is mutual," Diesel replied. "I've heard a lot about the Crastvins of East Gartun."
"Ah yes, the family has been around for a while, and I'm sure will stay around for much longer."
"Though I hear there are people on the island that wish to overthrow the familial reign."

"Yes; there are various "revolutionary" factions all over this island, but they spend more time squabbling with each other than with us; Material damage of our assets has been minimal at best" Bernard said dismissively.
"Bernard here is the latest in the long line of Crastvins who rule this island, and he is currently grooming his four sons to take over; he has not decided who, but it will be a momentous occasion when Bernard's successor is announced" Catherine explained.
"Indeed; won't you care to join us for dinner tonight Admiral? We are celebrating 150 years of Crastvin Rule in East Gartun and we would love to have you" Bernard offered.
