In an attempt to lessen tensions between the five factions, our organizations have begun a limited information sharing program. Our initial test of this program will involve the sharing of information about a great sea-dwelling beast all our factions have encountered. We hope this program will allow us to gain trust of each other in our effort to bring down the beast.

The Colorfolk Contribution: Excerpt from the diary of Lancel Cornflower, Man In Conflower Blue, 1521
The survivors of the Beholden report that she was capsized by what appeared at first to be a great whale, but close to 500 feet from head to tail, which appeared beside them as they entered the Hale Sound. It swam at a distance for quite some time, just below the surface, and many of our crew marveled at the great beast. But suddenly, three of the sailors, all men known for their low mental acuity, turned on the rest of the crew, killing several men while chanting for "the return of the old gods". They were eventually subdued, but the beast dtruck, ramming the ship and splintering the hull, before diving and disappearing. Thankfully, the ship managed to sail on a few miles more before capsizing, allowing most of us to get to the boats.
Comments from research team:
VEC-I'm gonna guess this thing is territorial? This seems to describe a brute, which is fascinating
SOM-We can confirm the territorial nature. This doesn't explain, however, what triggered the attack. Many boats sail throughout Hale Sound every day, whereas this beast seems to rarely attack individual ships.
GOD- I suspect this survivor wasn't telling the full story.
PIC- Can we just get on with it?
VEC Contrubution: Excerpt from a 5th century ode, translated from ancient Sudric, called the Death Of Damoni.
Upon a day, the call came out,
A beast they had seen
Below the surface, feeding on,
The men of the town
So Heph and Damoni took in hand
Their tools for the task.
Heph took his sword and Damoni
Took his staff and his red hand
His red hand
He left his pets with Flasky
He said no fond goodbyes
The duo strode to the dock
And looked into the sea
Heph sensed a power old as time
Lurking in the blue
And with a below mighty and proud
He called the mighty beast to come,
The mighty beast
It rose and sneered at Heph,
It's three eyes unblinking
Heph stood his ground
And ordered it to leave
The beast said it would leave
Only if a human beat it in a fight
So our brave hero Silverfinger
Damoni dove into the sea
Dove into the sea
The red hand grew, and its five heads
Were formidable foes
But the great beast ignored their blows
And tried to kill Damoni
His silver finger tried to stop it
But the beast released a great acid
And that it how this great warrior
Died fighting beneath the sea
Beneath the sea
Comments from research team:
COLORFOLK: Well, if it can live for 500 years, it can live for 2000.
SOM: I can confirm the three eyes and the acid.
GOD: Ditto on the eyes.
PIC: God, that poem is terrible. It doesn't even rhyme!
SOM Contribution: Failure Report filed by Head Jailer Shilliew
Date: January 18, 2003
Nature Of Failure: Loss of entire Umbra Down compound
Severity Of Cock-Up: Alpha-Red Gamma
Excuse Offered: Shilliew claims the compound, located in the Hale Sound, was attacked by a "three eyed whale, hundred foot long, sort of a silvery-blue, with three eyes. It just sort of dissolved the prison. I think its skin releases some sort of acid, not unlike Magellan"
Punishment Levelled: New prison at different location, Impel Down, commissioned, scheduled for completion January 19, 2003. Shilliew to be imprisoned for the charge of killing prisoners for fun and losing the Umbra Down compound, and Jailer Domino to be promoted in his place.
Comments from research team:
COLORFOLK: Wait, your organization has a standardized "failure report"?
VEC: Well, you built it in Hale Sound, and we've established that it is highly territorial. This was inevitable.
GOD: This is a really unjust punishment, guys.
PIC: Is no one else going to talk about how they expected Impel Down to be built in a day?
GOD Contribution: Mission Report, June 10-12, 2010, Serial Number XD420GAY69ICUP
Mission: Investigate reports of a large whale living in Hale Sound with three eyes.
Equipment used: The ships Skutuna and Dæmdur, 400 X-65 class B Torpedoes, serial numbers 4ZB658C79P, 3RQ137M02K, 9HP472 [Redacted For Brevity]
June 10: Beast located via Sonar. Crew notes visual similarity to fictional "Dungeons Or Dragons" Monster Aboleth, and this name will be used in records for brevity.
June 11: Crewmembers Stafford, Ryan, and Samson murder crewmembers Axel, Duras, Lossal, Skoda, Erikson, Jackson, Helensdottir, Ednasdottir, Sallysdottir, and Rachelsdottir in their sleep, placed in holding cells. Ryan commits suicide. Samson dies from blood loss after writing "Long Live The Old G" on the cell wall in his own blood. Stafford claims mind control from the Aboleth. Single Torpedo, serial number 5CX828I71P, fired at Aboleth. Wave patterns emerge from the Aboleth, redirects Torpedo towards ocean floor.
June 12: Crewmembers Hannasdottir, Liefsson, and Lieutenant Arnodsson possessed by Aboleth, locked up with only minor injuries. Aboleth attacks ships, Dæmdur lost with all hands, Skutuna retreats. Aboleth Rated as Global Priority Blue-1, Revenge Priority Orange-2.
Comments from research team:
COLORFOLK: So far, we've confirmed that this thing can control minds, is strong enough to capsize even warships on contact, and releases acid. It is clearly a force to be reckoned with.
VEC: And it lives for thousands of years, so it's not going away anytime soon.
SOM: Let's pray it's the only one down there.
PIC: Blah blah blah! Let's get to our piece.
PIC Contribution: Several wet napkins with writings and crude drawings by the late Balthassadore Essex, mostly of genetalia.

Comments from research team:
COLORFOLK: Um...
VEC: Wow.
SOM: "..."
GOD: *cough*
The committee has ruled 4-1 that this experiment was successful in defeating the beast, and has agreed to share more documents. The PIC dissented, claiming "We killed the damn thing, give us some credit!"
