Many, many, eons ago, the first planets formed. Life formed on three specific planets. Only one planet gained humanoid life, however, that of Virgo Prime, as it became known. The inhabitants of Virgo Prime were not unlike humans, or as they would have called us, "Alephians", for they called our sun Aleph. The "Virgins" were maybe a couple inches shorter and vastly different chromosomes and internal structure, but physically resembled us. They were a peace-loving people, but also a very industrial one, always pushing the boundaries of science.
When the Virgins gained the ability to study space, they quickly discovered that two of the planets in their solar system, "Odo Prime" and "Vastelin Prime" also contained life. Space travel became a priority. When Virgin VIII landed on Odo Prime, it marked the first contact with an alien species.
The Odoans were completely different from the Virgins, having evolved completely independently. They were incorporeal beings, almost liquid, that could morph as needed. A few took Virgin form and became ambassadors for the two species. Contact with the Vastelin was made not long after. The Vastelin were beings of pure energy, powerful and dangerous when provoked. But they too were intelligent, and together the three species founded an intergalactic power the likes of which the universe has never seen.
They mined asteroids and uninhabited planets, building a massive interstellar ship, which they used to evacuate their combined peoples when their star went supernova, forming the black hole at the center of the Virgo Galaxy, in the Virgo Cluster, in the Virgo Supercluster, and beyond.
For in the 9 Billion years they existed, they spread, making contact with billions of peoples. The Virgin Empire ruled the universe with a benevolent fist.
Until one day, the Virgins discovered a new galaxy, in a small, mostly unexplored section of their supercluster. War with the Laniakeans and exploration of their conquered territories had left it as a mark on their star charts labeled "explore later". That galaxy was our own. And when the Virgin Scouts began to explore it, they found something quite odd.
There was a certain particle, called a Maeg Boson by them, that was extremely rare. But it was all over this galaxy. And it imbued the inhabitants of this galaxy with strange, unnatural powers. They had discovered magic.
The main power in the galaxy was the Federation of Udonis-Colventri Kingdoms. The Udonis and Colventri were both humanoid, as were some of the other major species, the Presuisoltians, Galanfraxvis, and Defenders. Their mastery of magic opened new avenues of technology for the Virgin Empire.
But then there was trouble. F(o)UCK did not want to share their secrets with these outsiders. The Virgin Empire had Laniakean firepower at their disposal, but when open war broke out, magic-powered Colventri fighters proved more than a match. So the Virgins had but one choice.
They attacked a Presuisoltian Prism Factory on Defender Theta, freeing the Losiuserpian slaves, killing all remaining life on the planet, and managed to secure the prisms they needed. To do what? It's quite simple.
Using Prism technology, a Virgin, Odoan, and Vastelin fused with the Prism spirits to form beings of great power. Only 50 existed, but it was enough. They were sent back in time to the earliest stages of the universe, where they truly became gods.
Some became vengeful and used godlike power against the enemies of the Virgin Empire. Most notably, one of these beings, calling itself True Defender, went after the five chief species of F(o)UCK. By modern day, the Udonis are extinct, the Presuisoltians all but. The remaining species have splintered, with the Defenders and Coventri in open war with the Losiuserpians while the Galanfraxvis go about raiding planets for wood. A trio of these beings, only two of which are known to have names (Tim and Mark, the third is often called "old man"), just destroyed stuff for the heck of it. Still another, Mr Marvelous, did, well, the tournament arc.
Others became passive observers, watching and wondering at the miracle of the universe. Because of their nature, their names are not known.
And the rest resolved to teach their knowledge to others. One, calling itself Teacher, taught Man In Bright Turquoise things about reality he could not have even fathomed. Teacher has other pupils, and there are other teachers, but they are beyond the scope of this story.

Hope you all like it! I came up with this while brainstorming for the Space Arc, and while it's not really all that connected to my plans for that arc anymore, it does provide some explanations for some things, particularly the "celestial beings" like MM and Teacher. If you don't like the explanation, though, that's fine, it's just an idea.
Yes, that acronym was very necessary and very mature. I don't know what you're talking about.
