What does Marvelous have cooked up? Find out, soon!
(Probably whenever we end our Rise of Steamlin Arc actually...)
((Also any problems with the currently selected members of each team, all selected by the cosmic being himself, list them below and we'll see if we can iron out those details...))

He'll also have a few surprises in store; like he said, one battle will involve dragons; but that comes later

1) All important VEC missions have at least one Cubii joining them. Even if they were abducted against their will, Xex would most likely track them down anyway. 2) I would switch Inferno or Tim for Chessmaster, preferably the latter. 3) Man In Red and Man In Brown aren't nearly important enough or developed enough to carry this arc. (Man In Red has some development, sure, but mostly revolving around the Red Warriors) 4) My suggestions for other Colorfolk to incorporate: Man In Black Man In Off-White, Man In Green, Man In White, Man In Gold, Man In Arylide Yellow, Woman In Blue, Woman In Silver, Woman In White, Woman In Gold, Woman In Green, Woman In Orange, Woman In Yellow, Woman In Purple. All of these have or will get some development if used.
GOD Picks: 1) Labyrinth Christianti 2) Zul Shadowmend 3) Gnash Aimes 4) Fark Devonshire 5) Ellena Morgan 6) Maleficent Interfector 7) Nifsara Hunt 8) Zima Onyx 9) Jude Jinx 10) Gralikow

Frank:
The surprises are the exhibition matches hinted towards the end of the announcement, like Ventis mentioned by MM himself, he has a few other legendary appearances in store, such as the famed "King of the Giants"...
Toz:
I added Characters like Tim and the Man in Brown because I felt we should give certain spots to 'clean slate' characters who are stated to have strength, like the former God of Destruction and the wielded of the Axe of Brannan, but changes will be made based on your suggestions
Also Chessmaster and Xex almost made this list, and to concede one of them will be returning to it

Fair enough, but I'm going to have to repeat my earlier point on Man In Red. His whole thing is that he has a team of other shades of red that fight beside him. Take that away and I don't know if he could even function. If we replace him we can use Woman In White or another undeveloped colorwoman.

Fair enough, he's only really on here because I thought as the strongest shade of red, it would do good to show he's redeemed himself, and his lineage, since the Neo-Colormen Arc

Steve the Ripper is not going to like #7 but yeah that sounds fine, make sure you decide on their powers before MM gets this thing off the ground though...

I will. Tim "The Ripper" Scourge is based on Tim "The Ripper" Owens, ex-Judas Priest vocalist, because the name is badass, though I didn't want it to be that much of a rip-off so I swapped Owens for Scourge.

Also, when other people are posting for whenever we get to this, I think we should probably make a list of all the powers of each of the competitors, and maybe their personalities as well, so we make sure none of us write these guys OOC

Sure, I'll do a few now, actually.
Xex: Powers: Transformation, limited control of others, can turn non-corporeal, can travel between dimensions, teleportation Natural Defenses: Wings, claws, tail Character: Mysterious and quiet, prone to outbursts of rage. Vivian and the other cubii are their only friends. Weaknesses: Cubii have few known weaknesses because no one has ever won in a fight against them that we know of. They do tend to retreat if they don't have powerful allies beside them though.
Priori: Powers: Necromancy (Can animate the dead and steal "life essence"), especially involving skeletons; anti-life magic beams Character: Hostile to strangers, but warm and friendly to allies. Weaknesses: Requires some amount of dead bodies nearby to function at full power, can only control a limited amount of dead matter.
Vivian Bloodsphere: Powers: A variety of magic orbs with various uses (see her wiki page for details) Character: Friendly and supportive, but with an unchecked bloodlust. Weaknesses: Minimal defensive spells
Inferno: Powers: Fire-related spells, can summon "fire golems" Character: Hot-headed and hot-tempered Weaknesses: Anything that puts out fires can be used against the majority of his magic
Zima Onyx: Powers: Can communicate with and control invisible "air spirits" most can't even detect Character: Young and innocent Weaknesses: Anything that affects the creatures she controls affects her; needs said creatures to have any power; little to no natural magic of her own
Labyrinth Christianti: Powers: Extreme shapeshifting ability Character: Sassy and loud-mouthed Weaknesses: Minimal combat magic, although she does have a strong natural defense

I mean, he's not listed, but yes- my idea is that Metalicana fights Ventis at some point.
And I promise, it will make sense in the context of the story

Hey tug; do you have an idea of how big Metalicana is? I need to know before I post the stats on Ventis

He's probably around 60-80 feet in length with maybe about a 70-80 foot wingspan, but honestly, he might fight Ventis in his hybrid form, mocking the dragon by saying he's 'too weak' to force him to go all out...

Well remember- Ventis is the most powerful air dragon to ever exist; I promise as we get to the story it will make sense. But in a nutshell, Yes, that's how it will probably start- but as the fight progresses it becomes an all out dragon on dragon brawl.
Ventis is about 160 feet tall and has a 120 foot wingspan; In short; he's going to have a major size advantage over Metalicana, but Metalicana will have an intelligence advantage over him (Ventis' intelligence is barely human; though he can understand human speech he cannot actually speak it)

I'll do some as well...
Man in Steel: Powers: Ability to control, create and turn himself into ice, able to manifest his will to detect enemies, create armor, or send a shockwave that knocks out or freezes enemies' with weaker willpowers, standard Colorfolk spells, ancestral hammer gifted by the Prism, 4th Wall aware Character: Will work with people, even enemies, if it is to reach a common goal, has become friendlier over time, does not give up easily Weaknesses: Stubborn, will sometimes put himself in more harm to finish a battle faster, his powers had caused him to become a bit cocky
Man in Brown: Powers: Standard Colorfolk spells, unusually high physical strength, ancestral axe created by Colormen of old Character: Has a strong sense of honor, friendly guy to get along with, will put his life on the line for the Colormen Weaknesses: Is easily offended and embarrassed when people bring up the fact he wears brown pants, when offended, is very distracted and takes him a while to refocus on whatever he's doing
Blood Alchemist (Hohenheim): Powers: Necromancy (Can control the blood inside a person's body, thus controlling their body as a whole), gained the powers of the Philosopher's Stone (Philos), turning his whole body into one, can summon Krev chains that are not easily broken, assortment of alchemical powers and other spells, 4th Wall aware Character: Very loyal to VEC/GHB, Best Friends with Bronze Mage/Chaos, will give 'tough love' to whoever in VEC who needs with the goal to make them stronger Weaknesses: Prone to anger easily if something annoys him enough, when angered, it can cloud his battlefield strategies, making them useless, has and may use the most dangerous gamble to defeat an enemy, even if he would get hurt more
Chaos: Powers: Invisibility, Bad Luck (Chaos) Magic, a few lightning spells, very knowledgeable on shadow/darkness magic Character: Best Friends with Hohenheim, very loyal to his Soldiers in the IDEA, would give his life to make sure Metalicana never faces VEC Weaknesses: Once his invisibility is broken he doesn't have much in offensive power, lacking in defense against most non-stealth type magic, has a slight fear of the stronger members of SOM that will affect his performance against any of them
Tim: Powers: Cosmic entity, ability to destroy planets, can create shockwaves that created the Grand Canyon and the Marianna Trench, can control the space around him depending on his mood, doesn't understand the full extent of his powers Character: Doesn't talk unless to other cosmic beings or people on their level of power, prone to falling asleep a lot, buddies with the Bronze Mage, loves pudding cups, easily to get along with ironically Weaknesses: Falls asleep even on the battlefield, usually why he doesn't participate much, rarely fights people on the cosmic level so he's a bit out of practice, if you trash his pudding cups, or don't get him one fast enough, he flares up worse than 6 supernovas exploding at once
Balor: Powers: Giant, Earth shifting magic, ability to turn skin to stone (Stoneskin), golem crafting, strong and durable body, can withstand attacks by Colorfolk weaponry, cursed eye that when revealed to light, gives him a power boost but forces him on an unstoppable rampage until his cursed left eye is covered once more Character: Descended from the Warrior Giants of old, he has a strong sense of honor and loyalty, will protect those close to him no matter what, has a strong hatred for two specific members of SOM Weaknesses: If eyepatch is removed his curse activates no matter what, cannot think rationally when no his cursed rampage, will turn to his curse's power to finish a fight if he thinks it will let him end the battle quicker
Suleiman: Powers: Wields a Vallerium two-handed Blade (Cutlass) named Reis, skilled swordsman, massive amounts of inhuman physical strength, has a good sense of insight for his opponents, has a strange 'demonic-like aura' that activates when furious Character: A very stoic individual, has a strong sense of wanting to repay his benefactors for breaking him out of Impel Down, follows orders and will only bend them if it will shape his commander's interests, cares for his true love greatly Weaknesses: No natural magical abilities, angered easily when his true love, Adrianna, is brought up, his attitude from being an executioner still heavily influences his fighting style, making his strikes easier to predict than most
I'll due SOM's fighters next time, but I hope you guys like these descriptions for now

Actually, Balor's stone skin can withstand almost Colorfolk weaponry, not all of it.
Remember- Man In Cerulean was able to drive his spike through Balor in the chest area during their first battle.
But yes, against most weapons, his stone skin can hold out
You want me to develop some character profiles? I'll get to work on the Colormen ones if you like

Frank you forget, Metalicana isn't a natural dragon per say, he's the spirit of one who took over a human host, so he's not going to be the biggest dragon, but besides being the new name of the strongest Darkness Dragon to ever live, Lokaskaya, the fusion between the Man in Iron and Lokaskaya has created a more powerful breed of Dragonoid, not fully Dragon, not fully Human either, Metalicana, would still use his hybrid form, even if he would end the battle quicker with his dragon form, out of spite towards Ventis proclaiming his strength just because of his massive size Kind of like an evil version of the David and Goliath fight... Sure you can work on the Colorfolk, but that line of Balor being able to withstand Colorfolk weaponry is what addresses his fight with MiC

Interesting.
That was actually the whole premise I wanted to pursue- the most powerful dark dragon vs the most powerful air dragon
