3WSR can be roughly divided into many arcs, and this thread will allow for a quick check to see what past events have occured.
ORIGINAL ERA:
On the old TTTE Wikia Forums, a game called 3WSR was born. Seeming to be just a day in the life of Thomas, things took a strange turn when Frank and Toz started posting...
Though only one arc was completed, it was memorable enough to survive and evolve, becoming the monstrosity we know and love today.
First Arc:
Thomas is given a strange package containing a talking Bachmann Edward. Meanwhile, James is sucked into a nefarious plot to destroy all the red engines on Sodor. The mastermind of this plan is a mysterious figure known as "Man In Black". He steals Bachmann Edward, now revealed to be a powerful superweapon, to make his escape... but his nemisis, Man In Blue, steals the batteries, makes Man In Black colorblind, and prepares his escape... before the Red Seven and Man In Green show up. Man In Blue flees to Culsee Fell, burying Bachmann Edward there. Thomas retrieves Bachmann Edward, but the other Colorfolk, plus the Men In Orange, Purple, and Brown, have joined the pursuit, and Bachmann Edward is broken. Deux ex Machina arrives in the form of Kendarboo Flickerbee, who repairs Bachmann Edward. Meanwhile, Man In Blue has an epiphany and joins Team Thomas on the side of good, as long with the men in white, silcer, and gold. However, 300 colormen corner them, but start fighting among themselves and destroy each other, allowing good to triumph.
Trivia:
*Early installment weirdness abounds. Colorman magic is not used until halfway through, with Man In Black's color blindness caused by a device possessed by Man In Blue. The Prism, Morality Check, Colorwomen, and VEC are not mentioned at all, and several characters have vastly different personalities.
*Several recurring gags, such as Man In Amber Apricot's inflatable head, the Gift of Carrot and Tale of Tail, and the gibberish spells, began life here.
*At one point, the engines complain that they haven't been mentioned "for three whole posts". This is almost laughable now!
REVAMPED ERA:
In February 2015, a new TTTE forum was created, and a month or so later, 3WSR had a new start. Though still not as in-depth as today, the revamped era is seen as contaiming some of the best arcs, characters, and jokes, as well as setting the stage for what 3WSR is today...
Sadly, this incarnation of 3WSR was deleted by the forum Admins in a board sweep in summer 2015, but it's legacy lives on.
Diesel 10's Reign Arc:
Diesel 10's problem-causing is not going well, but when he discovers a unicorn tapestry, he wishes to become ruler of Sodor. Together with The Diesel, he lords over Sodor with an iron claw, but his excellency Diesel 10 is constantly plagued by strange dreams that he is being overthrown. Eventually, the Unicorn Tapestry grew fed up and decided to retcon out the whole arc, but D10 was still around...
Trivia:
*The Colorman are mentioned repeatedly by Frank and Toz as an inside joke. It was also the first mention of the Colorwomen, who officially debuted in the War of the Shards arc.
* Most posts in this arc involved character X waking up, commenting on what a weird dream it had been, and going about their business... but that was all a dream too...
*The Unicorn Tapestry is the only recurring feature of the game that debuted in this arc.
*This arc is a great example of how much the game has changed; compare D10 here to D10 post-World Tour to see his vastly different personality.
Maglev Arc:
The shortest arc in 3WSR history features the engines worrying about a new maglev train, and introduces Erin and Sierra the Maglev engines.
Trivia:
*The Maglev engines still make infrequent appearances today, usually in the form of "Meanwhile, the Presuisoltians were working on the Maglev line."
War of the Shards Arc:
The Colormen return to Sodor seeking the remnants of an ancient artifact called the Prism. Also seeking it are the Colorwomen, Kendarboo Flickerbee, the Numbered Diesels (D10 and his brothers, D11, D12, and D5000XL), Sir Topham Hatt's doppelganger Sir Smashem Flatt, and the High Colorfolk, the Men and Women in Blue, White, Silver, and Gold. Thomas agrees to help the High Colorfolk, but the resulting conflict leads to the discovery that Sir Robert Norramby wants to built a monster with the Prism Pieces, the opportunity for some great lampshading, and a brief cameo by a "Bronze Diesel", who became important later. The High Colorfolk eventually were able to capture the Numbered Diesels, purify most of the Colorfolk, and ride off into the sunset, leaving the engines to repair the completely destroyed Tidmouth...
Trivia:
*This arc was the first appearance of the Numbered Diesels, Man In Infrared, and the Colorwomen. It is also the only appearance of Sir Smashem Flatt to date.
*Early installment weirdness abounds. The Prism is referred to as a "great magical artifact", not the source of the Colorfolk's power. The pieces of it are called Prism Pieces rather than shards, as is more common today. The Numbered Diesels are way out of character.
*The discovery the Bachmann Edward is powered by a "spare" Prism piece became important later.
*The Presuisoltians appeared as a one-off gag, in response to a post saying "the world exploded" (the Presuisoltian homeworld, that is...). Several arcs later, they became full-fledged characters in their own right when they were resurrected as a joke ("those aliens from page 13 of the thread").
TUGS Arc:
The Tugs are found and brought to Sodor, where they interact with the engines. But their enemies, the Z-stacks, are also out to destroy them, and it takes the intervention of the ghost of Captain Starr to set things right...
Trivia:
*The earliest chapters of Thomas And The Tugs were taken almost verbatim from this arc.
Old Rusty Engines Arc:
After Gordon's long-lost brother St. Simon is found, a whole host of supposedly lost engines arrive at Crovan's Gate for repairs, including River Tid, WSR No.3 and best candidate for title character, and Spencer's brother Quicksilver.
Trivia:
*The inclusion of the characters Lucifer and Beelzebub, the friendly diesels with demon names, led to a heated conflict over whether those names should be changed to Nathaniel and Zach respectively. Ultimately, due to the main advocate for the name change becoming inactive, the characters are still Lucifer and Beelzebub as of their last appearance.
*This arc is arguably the first true "b-plot", beginning towards the end of the Tugs arc and continuing through the Bronze Mage arc and into the World Tour.
Bronze Mage Arc:
A mysterious Bronze Diesel arrives on Sodor with evil intent. Along with various TTTE merchandise gimmicks, such as ROBOT CHARLIE, Silver Percy, and Sam the Enormous Engine, they caused trouble for the engines. But when the Colormen get involved, it is revealed that the Bronze Diesel is actually an old Colorman foe, the Bronze Mage. The colorfolk have to retrieve their artifacts to have any hope of stopping him. Although they do restore the rest of his army to human form, he and "Percy Silver" get away, to return when the time is right...
Trivia:
*The first mention of the Colorfolk artifacts, Bronze Mage, and Percy Silver.
*It is mentioned that Sir Topham Hatt "could only afford the Colormen" and not the colorwomen, revealing that the two still considered themselves separate, if allied, factions, and also that they served as bounty hunters.
*This arc had arguably the biggest impact of all the Wikia Forum arcs on modern 3WSR. Characters like the Bronze Mage and Percy Silver are vital to the modern game, plot details like the artifacts play a pivotal role in many arcs, and in the Steamlin arc, Thomas Gold, ROBOT CHARLIE, and a few other merch-exclusives returned, bent on revenge. They later joined GOD, and will undoubtedly continue to influence the game.
