This one is going to be the easiest to do, considering that we have it all here: 3wsr.proboards.com/thread/5/recollecting So, what do you think about the Original Arc of 3WSR? Was it good? Bad? Mixed feelings? Post your comments below, and I'll take them and use them for the blog. Thanks!

I have to say it's a pretty good starting point, but how you guys have evolved their personalities and their histories is really amazing. It's great to see how far a couple of gag characters can go once people put serious thought into them and cause them to become more human....

This was a classic, it's hard for me to believe what was once an underposted game board game became what it is today, a fandom. Believe it or not a user went in the story on page one, DonaldDouglasandToby6 to be exact, although in my rewritten version I replaced it with Toz temporarily.

Actually, I confess: that was me. I edited DonaldDouglasandToby6 out of the story when I was copy and pasting the story to send to TGC when he was posting it on another forum because I didn't think he would like it if we were talking about him on a forum he wasn't even a part of; so I replaced him with Toz for that reason. And it made sense for a while; Since he only contributed about ten posts to the game, and for a 2 month period (i think) Toz and I were the only ones who played the game, resulting in a lot of in-jokes only we could understand.
Again, I apologize for that.

Any other opinions? Do you want to say something, Toz76? Do you want to add, frankthetriviaman? If so, please do!

Rereading the original arc, it takes me back to a simpler time. Back then Toz and I were really the only o Ed who did it (donalddouglasandtoby6 did for a little bit, but stopped after a while). TGC did come in at the end, but by then the old forum had closed and it was too late to continue.
I sometimes wonder what would have happened if the old forum never closed; where would the story have gone? One thing I do know: more than likely, Diesel 10's reign would have never happened, because we would have been working off of what TGC wrote instead of starting a while new game from scratch.
Toz and I surprisingly made a great team; we didn't contradict each other and it was difficult to stump each other. We went off of whatever the other did, and took the story in several different directions. We ended creating a lot of Colormen lore there, such as the first battle, Kendarboo Flickerbee and Bachmann Edward.
Considering the newly established history and depth, naturally there are some continuity errors in this arc, but I wouldn't rewrite it. It is a simple reminder of the humble beginnings of this game.

Looking at it from the standpoint of what we have today, this was probably the funniest arc and had the most solid plotline, but it does have a case of "early installment weirdness". I agree that it was excellent, but there are a few inconsistencies with what we have today. Most notably, Man In Black was much more docile, Man In Red was prone to random acts of violence (particularly towards Man In Green), and magic was portrayed much differently (it didn't come up until halfway through [Man In Blue even used a machine to make Man In Black colorblind!] and when it did come in, it took five colormen to teleport Thomas! [In fairness, though, all the times he teleported required something extra, so teleporting engines could just be harder]). It doesn't get in the way too much, though. This arc also created quite a few of our running gags: Gift of Carrot/Tale of Tail, the Red 7, the pointing out of plotholes by characters, and even lampshading how the colormen took the story over from the engines! "You haven't even mentioned us for three posts!" Reading it brings us back to a simpler time, untouched by Ceberus, where engines and colorfolk shared the story equally and every post had a little joke in it. It's definitely right up there as one of my favorite arcs. 9/10 (TV Tropes has ruined my vocabulary. )
