107. Megadeth - โHangar 18โ
Rust in Peace was a juggernaut in the guitar world, and the albumโs second track is arguably the greatest dual guitar song ever recorded. Featuring a blazingly intertwined set of riffs, the back half of this scorcher is a solo duel between Dave Mustaine and Marty Friedman that never fails to excite. Throw in lyrics about aliens and you have one of the greatest metal songs of all time.

With their long hair and makeup, Twisted Sister were regarded as a bit of a joke but the wannabe-masculine metalheads as their anthems โI Wanna Rockโ and โWeโre Not Gonna Take Itโ dominated the airwaves. Yet this slow-burner showed that the band were just as ferocious as their contemporaries. It was made more famous thanks to its appearance in Pee-weeโs Big Adventure.

102. Symphony X - โThe Odysseyโ
Ask prog metal fans what the epitome of the genre is and this masterclass of songwriting prowess is sure to be in the running. Symphony X wrote an incredible 24 minute retelling of Homerโs iconic poem and ever second of it is incredible. Featuring tightly interwoven pieces and narrated by the incomparable Russell Allen, this is a song that few will forget once heard.
