In the words of Rob Halford: "If you don't include 'Breaking the Law' there'll be trouble." And he's right. It isn't one of the greatest songs of all time for nothing. 6 | Judas Priest โข Breaking The Law

If this song doesn't prove that Lemmy was a metal god, then nothing will. It's considered one of the greatest metal songs ever - possibly the greatest - by many. Even those not that into the band love this track. 5 | Motรถrhead โข Ace of Spades

That motor starts revving, Dimebag starts his guitar and BAM! You have one of the greatest songs of all time. Written about the fact that there aren't very many successful metal bands from Texas, these guys proved it wasn't so and made a badass, extreme guitar song that just plainly shreds. 4 | Pantera โข Cowboys From Hell

Honestly, the Top 3 are pretty much interchangeable, but for this list, this song falls to #3. Some may place it higher but hey, I'm making it, it's a great song, but #3 is reasonable. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for one of the finest metal songs of all time. 3 | Metallica โข Master of Puppets

Like I said, the Top 3 is pretty much interchangeable, and taking second place is this classic song about a prisoner's last thoughts before his execution. From beginning to end, it's seven minutes of perhaps the greatest metal song ever. Just give it a listen if you don't believe me. 2 | Iron Maiden โข Hallowed Be Thy Name

And so we've come to Number 1. And while the Top 3 may be pretty interchangeable, there's only one song I can give the top spot to with a clear conscience. One of the heaviest songs ever upon release, still one of the most badass today, it inspired thrash, death, speed, and extreme metal as a whole. It sums up what metal is all about, from great riffs to headbangary and everything else in between. Ladies and gentlemen, the greatest metal song of all time... 1 | Slayer โข Raining Blood
