TGC recently brought up a good point of establishing what is and is not canon in the Thomas Universe for our story, in light of several contradictions. Here, they will be clarified.
So far, the following is established:
When the Railway Series and TV series contradict, the Railway series takes priority
With the exception of Rusty to the Rescue, all of seasons 1-4 are canon
More coming soon...

SEASON 5:
Most of season 5 is canon, with the following notes:
Rusty and the Boulder was a dream Rusty had
Snow was a story Rusty told Thomas, it didn't really happen
Stepney Gets Lost is not canon because the RWS takes priority, and it contradicts Stepney the Bluebell Engine
Gordon and the Gremlin is undecided at the moment, due to the following problem with the story:
Thomas brought Dowager Hatt to the station where Gordon picked her up, and Gordon took her on another ride to another station... where THOMAS picked her up, and took her to a ferry. Why not just have Thomas go straight to the ferry?
Though it was a good story, this plot hole, in my opinion, kills the story. But we want to open this discussion to get others thoughts on this

It could be STH was giving his mother a special tour of the railway while they waited for the ferry to arrive

Possible; but why have Thomas drop her off for Gordon, Gordon go on a ride, then they come to a station where Thomas picks her up and they go to the ferry.
I mean, it it was another engine, it would work, but having Thomas appear twice, it doesn't make sense.

Season 6: (NOTE: When not mentioned, an episode is considered canon)
Salty's Secret- Canon, with the following notes:
Center Island Quarry, as explained by the Wiki, is in fact Anopa Quarry on Thomas' branch line where Mavis really works
Bill and Ben are working there because the China clay pits were closed for a prolonged period of time due to a series of safety violations discovered. Anopa quarry had an increased demand for stone, so they requested Bill and Ben on loan from the SCC to help Mavis, who could not handle the work herself.
Harvey to the Rescue- canon, with the following note:
When Edward says "he doesn't even look like an engine" he is not being mean, he is simply confused, since he has never seen an engine like that before.
No Sleep for Cranky- canon; Bill and Ben are there because with the closure, they split their time between the quarry and docks.
A Bad day for Harold- canon; Harold took on so much because his pilot was new and could not remember how much Harold could safely carry, so he did not try and stop Harold
Elizabeth the vintage quarry truck- canon; Elizabeth was able to get to the docks because Elizabeth's owner (who owned the shed) came around, and asked why she was out of it. So she explained, and asked to be taken to the docks. It was a rough journey, but she made it, and by chance, there was Hatt
Thomas the Jet engine- Canon, but the story we saw was actually an exaggerated account, told by Thomas in flashback (he was being cheeky about it)
Jack Jumps In/ A friend In Need- Canon; the vehicles are free to behave the way they do because their drivers share similar personalities, and the Cronk station seen in these episodes was an older one on the outskirts of town
It's only snow- canon, but "Winter Holiday" is replaced with Christmas
Gordon takes a tumble- canon; Gordon ignored the sign and went faster because he had a relief driver that day who did not know Gordon, and when Gordon said "I'm an express engine I don't do slow" the relief driver essentially said "if you say so" and obliged by going faster
Percy's chocolate crunch- canon; The chocolate factory "suddenly appeared" at the base of Gordon's hill because the factory had not been open that long, and after the accident the owners realized that was a terrible location, and moved the factory
Buffer Bother- Canon; see Salty's Secret
Toby had a little lamb- Canon; because the RWS takes priority, Toby's old line is in East Anglia and closed. However, it is replaced with "an old part of the line" that Toby happened to remember, and that is what he used.
Edward the Very Useful Engine- canon; Stepney was present because he was visiting Sodor again
Rusty Saves the Day; non-canon- they contradict the apology to Rusty Duncan gave in season 4 and the RWS

How is it non canon just because of 'winter holiday'? You guys really need to rethink these things. That or just make everything canon...

That was actually not finished yesterday; I meant to edit that out because we hadn't finished talking about that one.
Sorry for any confusion

IMO, we should just ignore "Winter Holiday" and see if the episode is solid if you just replace it with Christmas.

Season 7:
Percy gets it right- non-canon; Sir Topham Hatt is out of character; he would never just brush off an engine's concerns
The Old Bridge- non-canon; Skarloey is very out of character
Edward's Brass band- non-canon; Edward is out of character
What's the matter with Henry- canon; he was acting the way he was because even though he was in his new shape, he was due for maitenance/ an overhaul
(TO BE CONTINUED)

Should we continue this? Because I got an idea for something that will work greatly if we at least get Season 7 done, and even better if we get through the rest of the series (Minus 13-16 as we discussed)

Yeah, also, in the works thread I posted an idea I got a few days ago, and expanded on last night.
