"Yes: Keep out of my way."
Gunnarson meekly moved aside.

"While I appreciate the offer, I need room; heaven knows what I am dealing with" Physician Warren said as she began removing the snow and clothes.
"Perhaps I can help? I did volunteer as a nurse during the war" Ms. Ellis offered
"Please, get me the towels and water, it is urgent!" Physician Warren declared as she began doing what she could for the groundskeeper.
Then, something occurred to Gunnarson. "Sergeant, where did you find your pistol?" A confused Gunnarson asked.
"Oh, it was lying on the table in the lounge; I didn't alert you because you were focused on other things" he said.
"Ah. But more importantly, I think we need to investigate something..." Gunnarson said, looking at Colonel Brooks. Just what was that freak out all about, he thought to himself.
"What the?" Hamilton said, as he was checking some things on his gun. "My gun has been fired!" He said, shocked.

"Are you certain?" Gunnarson asked, shocked.
"Yes" Hamilton said as he began removing bullets from the clip.
"Three. Three bullets missing" Hamilton explained.
"So there were six bullets fired last night, yet no one heard them, and none of them shot Dr. Walker. Does anyone know how that can be?" Gunnarson asked.

"Sergeant, is it possible the bullets could be used in the Colonel's gun, or even another gun none of us know about?" asked Gunnarson
"It's possible.." replied Hamilton
"Mr. Law is also the Gameskeeper, he's bound to have a few rifles or even a pistol in his hut on the grounds..." added Mr. Ellis

"Right now, I don't think Mr. Law here is much of a suspect; even if we assume he has a gun, no windows have bullet holes in them. But perhaps he was able to make something out from his hut" Professor Miller pointed out.
"That, being said, I think something important needs to be explained" Gunnarson pointed out, before turning to Colonel Brooks. "Colonel, The first three bullets in your revolver are not of interest to me right now. But the last three you fired are. When you shot Mr. Law, you screamed "It's come back for me!" What were you talking about?" Gunnarson asked.

"Well it all started in that God Forsaken war... Germany, 1944, I was fighting in the deep of winter right in the middle of the Ardennes Forest, The Battle of the Bulge they called it, A Nazi squadron surrounded our camp in a surprise attack in the middle of the night, during the fight, a snowstorm rolled around and heights of snow made the fight even worse than it was, the winds were so bad enemy and ally could barely be told apart, towards the end of the attack, my mind barely there due to what I can only assume was early hints of frostbite, someone heavily covered in snow came towards me. Because they wouldn't respond, i could only assume they were an enemy and shot them dead right there. Once the snow stopped falling and I examined the body I realized it was a squad mate of mine, a Corporal Benedict Waller, who seemed to try to be telling me the fight was over and I just couldn't hear him over the howling winds. That kill I never have gotten over and it still haunts me, and the trauma I have of it will never go away. That said, when Mr. Law was similarly covered head to toe like Corporal Waller was, my mind instinctually went to that moment of stress and I shot the Groundskeeper in my delirious state thinking he was Waller wanting revenge..." answered Brooks

Everyone was shocked.... Colonel Brooks always was a confident, loud man who always seemed to be a man of strong integrity. And yet, here he sounded broken, a trait you would not think to be associated with a man of the military.
As he was finishing his story, Physician Warren spoke up "Gunnarson, I just removed the last bullet and have stopped the bleeding. I think he should stabilize soon" he explained.

"Good, I have a few questions for the man and would like to ask them, but before I do, this is the final warning if any of you are, in fact, the killer, if you don't come clean now I will do everything I can to figure out how you committed this crime..." replied Gunnarson as the room around him stayed silent...
"Very well, Dr. Warren, to Mr. Law then please..."

Mr. Law had been brought into the Lounge while everyone else stayed in the drawing room, save for Gunnarson and Physician Warren, who entered the room. He was lying down on the couch.
"Mr. Law? How are you doing?" Gunnarson began.

"A bit in pain but I'll live, I've been shot before so this feeling isn't new, though the amount of bullets was a surprise..." coughed Law
"Alright then, sorry to change the subject so quickly but did you know Dr. Walker, the master of this house, was killed earlier in the evening?" asked Gunnarson
"No I didn't, d you think I did it?" questioned Law
"no, you were off in your quarters no where near the house when the murdered occurred, with the storm and the distance, you could never logically be pinned as a suspect, but even from that distance I bet you have witnessed anything mysterious in the house..." replied Gunnarson
"In fact, I did see something strange..." responded Law
"What was it then?"

"Movement, a lot of movement. Almost as if one person was being chased throughout the night by a lot of people" Law explained.
"The snow is pretty high; why attempt to come to the mansion?" Gunnarson asked.
Law began, "Well, when I woke up this morning, I realized that I had run out of firewood..."

"And that movement in the night left me with a feeling that something was wrong in the house, so it convinced me to trudge onwards... I had loaned my shovels to a friend of mine, needed them to bury his own mother God rest her soul, and was forced to use my hands to get through the massive snowdrifts blocking the doors, leaving me covered in all that snow that caused me to be shot in the first place..." replied Law
"anything else you would like to add?" asked Gunnarson

"Yea... I saw at one point someone carrying someone else. That must have been Walker after he was killed and his murderer. Didn't see where it happened, but definitely was on the first floor." he said.
"Ok; so that rules out the master bedroom" Gunnarson noted.
"And this may sound strange... but I also so a... woman I think. She opened the window in... the dining room I think. Fired three gunshots out, then closed the window." Law said.
"Come again?" Gunnarson asked.

Gunnarson pondered. An idea was tingling in the back of his head, but he couldn't pull it out at this point. He gave up in frustration, and returned to ask Law more questions.
(Also, can we say that Walker's face was brutally smashed in?)

(Technically no; because his face was how they identified him; you can say it was covered in bruises and contusions though)
"How many gunshots did you hear that night?"
"Six, though I only saw the three I mentioned, the others came later, but I didn't see, only heard" Law explained.
"Tell me more about the movement"
"As I said, it looked like one person being chased by multiple people. As if each person was trying to kill the one individually. But the strange part of all this is..."

"It felt more like it was an act in a play, or something of that sort, than actually it happening in real life."
"An act in a play... I think I have it!" said Gunnarson. It all seemed to make sense now, but he would need evidence or the theory of his could go to the dogs. Thanking Law for all that he had told him, he...

Let him rest before returning to the drawing room to inform the suspects.
"The next part of my plan is simple. I have noted where the weapons were yesterday, and now I must take note of where they are today. Colonel Brooks, as you know, your gun ended up in the dining room, for instance. Why, we don't know yet. But I must do the same for the other weapons, even if I ruled them out."
Indeed, he first considered the rope. Yesterday it was in the drawing room, but today he was surprised to find it in the study, thrown under a table. Then there was the sword; it had been removed from the trophy room and to his surprise it was in...

the billiard room.
"Now how did it get here?" he wondered.

Sure enough, every weapon had changed rooms, and then he came across something important.
"Oh, but of course!" He declared.
He ran to the drawing room.
"The good news is, one of you has been proven innocent. And that is... Reverend Dixon." Gunnarson declared.
"Oh, thank you sir. How did you find out?" The reverend asked
"Very simple. I found evidence indicating you couldn't have killed Walker, and that is..."

"Because the glass of orange juice is half full!"
"Excuse me, but how does that prove my innocence?"
"It's very simple."
