"Yes, and they all seemed to be carrying sticks."
"Did you say 'sticks'? Not guns?"
"Oh certainly not! They were sticks, as plain as I could see."

Now Gunnarson wasn't sure who to believe.
"Tell me more about your relationship with Dr. Walker"
"Well my friendship with him actually began with his parents" she began "It all started when he was a boy; back then..."

"...my mum was good friends with his father when they were younger, and they always got on well later on too."
"Perhaps a former love interest?"

"Maybe; she never said. He was like a nephew to me, and after I married he did become good friends with my step-daughter. The two would spend a lot of time together, but they never were more than friends" she said.
"How would you describe your relationship with your step-daughter, Ms. Parker?" Gunnarson asked.
"Well, it's rather..."

"...simple, really. She is my stepdaughter and we've always gotten along quite well."

"Really?" Gunnarson asked.
"Sure, we've had our differences now and again, but nothing too significant." She explained.
"I see" Gunnarson replied. There was not much more he could get from her, so she went back to the lounge, and Ms. Parker came in.
"What were you doing at 2-3 am last night?" Gunnarson asked.
"I was sleeping. Though at around 2:30 or so I went to go check in on my dear Dr. Walker, though to my surprise, he was not in the master bedroom. I tried to go downstairs, but I saw a lot of movement and got scared, so I went back to my room" she explained.
"Interesting. Physician Warren already told her side of the story, so why don't you tell me yours" Gunnarson asked.
"Don't believe her for a second! Dr. Walker and I have been in love for years. It all started four years ago, when..."

"...we met at a pub."
"Oh really? Pray tell, what happened there?"

And she proceeded to tell the story of how their relationship blossomed. But Gunnarson was suspicious.
"So you say you met him four years ago, at a pub?" He asked.
"That's right" she replied.
"Oh, I also wanted to ask- your step-mother, when did she marry your father?" he asked.
"It was 16 years ago, next month" she explained.
"Was your step-mother already friends with Dr. Walker and his parents then?"
"Yes, she was" she explained.
"I think that is all the help you can give me for now... please send Sgt. Hamilton in when you return to the others" Gunnarson requested. After she left, Gunnarson thought to himself "There's no logical explanation for her to have not met Dr. Walker for 12 years after her step-mother entered her life; after all they had several mutual friends. I had my suspicions that Physician Walker or Ms. Parker was lying... and now I know who is" he thought to himself.
Then the last suspect, Sgt. Hamilton, walked in.

"Yes?" he scowled.
"Please take a seat," said Gunnarson. Hamilton sat. "Now then," said Gunnarson, "I'd like to ask you..."

"... a few questions" Gunnarson explained.
"Whatever; if it will get you off my back, so be it" Hamilton grumbled.
"Where were you last night between 2-3?" Gunnarson asked.
"Sleeping, of course!" Hamilton shot back.
"You didn't get up at all?" Gunnarson asked.
"Of course not, I was exhausted. Though I will admit, at one point I woke up somewhat half-groggy, and saw someone enter my room and take my pistol. Didn't think much of it because I thought I was dreaming, but it all makes sense now" Hamilton explained.
"Did you make out who took your gun?" Gunnarson asked.
"Based on what I made out... kind of looked like Ms. Parker actually" he replied.
"Come again?" Gunnarson asked.
"Ms. Parker entered my room and took my gun; at least I think she did" Hamilton replied.
"Tell me about your relationship with Dr. Walker" Gunnarson asked.
"Well, I've been an officer assigned to this town for 9 years, and..."

"I see," said Gunnarson. "Pray continue."

"Well, if you insist, it's because..."

"Like I said, I was having an affair, and I wanted to keep it a secret. I made up the burglary ring because I thought it would be believable."
"I see. May I enquire about your affair?"
"... I'd rather you didn't. It has no bearing on this case whatsoever."
"Hamilton, I need all the evidence I can get-"
"I've done investigations before too, I know. I wouldn't be keeping this from you if I thought it would help you solve the case. But it won't, and I'll be dealing with enough from why wife when I get home as it is."
Gunnarson reluctantly nodded and called in the next suspect.

Or rather, now that he had interviewed all the suspects, he called them all together to explain his next plan of action.
"From what I can tell, Dr. Walker was murdered by one of you, with a specific weapon in one of these rooms. And as far as I can tell... all of you may have had some sort of motive to kill him. The question is, whose motive was strongest? Could be any one of you. However, one detail is certain... the murderer had the strength to murder him, and carry him from that room, and down to the cellar and try and hide him. Given that there are no drag marks anywhere, That means the person in question is strong enough to lift and move nearly 200 pounds" Gunnarson explained.
"D-does that mean I've been vindicated? An old man like me could never have that kind of strength" Reverend Dixon asked hopefully.
Gunnarson shook his head, "I would normally say yes to that, however..."

"There are many ways to eliminate drag marks, so strength is not necessarily a factor. Anyway, Warren and I have taken the liberty of examining the body thoroughly and discovered what weapon it was that killed him."
"Shouldn't you have done that to start with?" Hamilton asked. "That seems like the logical way to start a case, rather than just guessing wildly."
"Well, yes, but that doesn't matter now. I've been working with Warren and we both agree the fatal wound was caused by..."

"...a blunt object."
"You can't be any more specific?"
"Well, I can make a guess. A steel pipe could make that kind of wound, but I don't want to tie myself down to one weapon right now."

"Correct; it could be any blunt object" Physician Warren noted.
"At any rate, we now know that the Posion, guns, and blades were not used. However..." Gunnarson began.
"Yes?" Professor Miller asked.
"That still does not change the fact that all the weapons changed rooms, and I intend to find out why as part of my investigation" Gunnarson explained.
"Oh, of course" Lady Goodwin replied.
"But the first piece of business" Gunnarson explained. "Earlier, I said that Physician Warren and Ms. Parker, one of them was lying. And now I know who!"
"What?!" Ms. Parker and Physician Warren exclaimed.
"After hearing both of you out, I have come to the conclusion that the liar is... Ms Parker!"
"Told you!" Physician Warren exclaimed.
"How can you say such a thing?!" Ms. Parker exclaimed.
"Quite simple, really. You see, after hearing your story, it contained various irregularities, and that drew me to conclude that you are indeed lying about being in a relationship with the late Dr. Walker"
Everyone was suddenly staring at her quite seriously.
"Emily, what are you trying to pull here?" Mrs. Clarke asked sternly

Just then, loud banging from an outside door began to grow amongst the occupants ears, suddenly startling the trapped group...
"What the devil is making that noise!" shouted Brooks, beginning to get jumpy
"I don't know, but it's coming from the outside door..." replied Mr. Ellis
"How could their be banging, there's snow blocking the door..." said a shocked Ms. Parker
"We better go investigate... Sergeant, Colonel, with me, Mr. Ellis, please protect the Reverend and these ladies for us..." said Gunnarson as the trio went to check out the noise coming from outside the door...
The three men soon came to the door, and Gunnarson laid out the plan...
"Sergeant, Colonel, I'll open the door and whatever comes through you try to subdue it,,, Got it?" asked Gunnarson
The other two, still on edge, nodded in agreement...
Gunnarson opened the door, and as the door swung open, a white monstrosity came tumbling through, Brooks let out an ungodly shout, yelling, "It's come back for me!", and revealed his service pistol and fired three shots into the creature...
"What the hell are you doing?" shouted a confused Hamilton as he knocked the gun out of Brooks' hand and tackled the Colonel
"No time for that, this is a just an average man who has been shot! Hamilton, come help me!" shouted Gunnarson, who had let go of the door and had just removed the white mask of a seemingly middle-aged man...
.....
Gunnarson and Hamilton soon returned to the group as they laid the victim down on a table right in front of Dr. Warren
"Doctor, could you people help me save this man... Brooks shot him out of what I can only assume was fright..." asked Gunnarson
"Of course I would... Someone go get me some towels and water, stat!" shouted Warren as other suspects began to do just that...
"Anyone know who this man is? "questioned Gunnarson
"Yes, this is Judas Law, he's the Groundskeeper for Dr. Walker... He was also his Game Hunter who kept trap of all the wild animals and pests loose on the property..." answered Ms. Ellis
'This man might be able to help me narrow out who the killer is, but that's not important till I can help save this man's life!' thought Gunnarson as he went over to Warren's side...
"Is there anything you need me to do?" asked the Swede
