So most of you probably know that I've created my own evil organization. Well, 'evil' might be stretching it, but eh. The Piracy International Coalition, or PIC for short, is a confederation... I mean, a coalition of pirates from around the world that have banded together. Their main goal ATM is to take over Sodor.
You may be wondering how they came to be. Well, it all started in a wiki chat. Tug asked me if I was going to create my own evil organization, and I said, "Maybe." I tried to make one some time after that, but it was nothing more than a Satanic cult not worshipping Satan and using Mercyful Fate lyrics in their evil worship. Yeah, never been seen since.
So a few days ago, I decided to make my very own radically evil group (REG), but got kind of stumped. The only idea I had was something like the ISE or IES or whatever Tug calls the Ice Syndicate Empire. ICE would've been cool, but since Tug already made them, I had to go a different route.
So as I was thinking, and thinking, and thinking, suddenly the word 'pirates' flashed into my mind. (One Piece popped into my head a second later.) So I was like, "Why don't we make a pirate organization?" Trying to figure out a good acronym was harder. I thought of 'PIC' right from the beginning, but couldn't decide what it should stand for. 'Pirate (something) (something)'? 'Pirate (something) Confederation'?
Suddenly, it hit me. The perfect name for a perfect group. Gentlemen, I give you... Potatoes In Cans!
The Pirates International Coalition became the Piracy International Coalition because, admit it, it sounds much cooler that way. Very excited about them, and I can't wait to start adding them into the plot mix of 3WSR. Considering that Tug likes them (totally not because of One Piece), I think that they'll be a welcome addition to The Game, and I look forward to seeing what they'll do.
Any questions about the PIC, post them here!

Who are some of the significant members and what, if any, powers do they have?

This is actually something that will be revealed in The Game itself, because I haven't yet decided on names for the pirates yet, or if any of them will have powers. Might ask Tug for his list of pirate names he offered me. Don't worry, they'll be named eventually, just not right away.

So D-11, how does/will the PIC react to Pirates turned Privateers, such as Eli and his Crew in the VEC Navy or Cavendish/Hack the Admiral of SOMGRA, since Eli is the Pirate King of the ancient times, and now the ferryman of lost souls at sea *cough*, and Cavendish, Eli as well, are pirates from way back when?

It probably all depends on the person. There might be a couple privateers in the PIC, but one that turns his back on his crew to sail only when paid will probably be punished, if they can catch him in time. I'll have to think this over a bit, good question.

I don't think you get the difference between a Pirate and a Privateer, so let me explain: A Pirate is someone who works on ship and commits crimes at sea against the world's governments to pillage, plunder, and be free... A Privateer, is basically a sanctioned pirate, they are pirates at heart but are given a rank and pay within a country, kingdom, or organization's navy, and are able to do pirate-y things legally under the country's jurisdiction, most privateers are despised by pirates... you're thinking of a mercenary, someone who commits criminal acts for money, which would be still considered pirates You're basically comparing the 'Wolves of the Sea' to the 'Government Dogs' to put in in a metaphor Hope this clears up any misinformation, a know a lot about pirates, not just from OP, so ask me any time for help with PIC if you need any...

No, I was thinking of privateers, I even looked it up to make sure I was thinking of the right thing. Your question just really stumped me and I worded it all wrong. I like to think that I know a good deal about pirates myself.

The Piracy International Coalition (PIC): A History
The Piracy International Coalition was created in 1998, when Nelson White, captain of the Tiger, decided to unite all the pirates of the world. A courageous fighter and a brilliant leader, White successfully won every battle he fought. Unlike many other pirates, he did not kill those that he had defeated and sink the ships; rather, he let them live, and only asked that they join his fleet. Thus he accumulated the largest fleet of ships in the history of the world. When other pirates heard of him, they decided to join him as well, and so the Piracy International Coalition - with pirates from every continent and every country - was born.
Nelson was a smart man, and when a ship joined him, he allowed them to keep their own rules and their own captains. As such, they were free to do what they wanted - unless he explicitly told them not to. As the commander of the fleet, if he needed some ships, they had to come and help him, but otherwise they could roam the seas to their own pleasure. Nelson was a kinder pirate than many others, and because of his bravery and his fleet, he became known as the "King of the Pirates".
In 2014, a stray shot brought White down, and his death nearly spelt the end of the PIC. However, Baldassare Essex, a slightly younger man, but one who was even stronger and fiercer than white, took command of the fleet. He was now commander of over 1,000 ships (no one could dare say the PIC was small), and while his predecessor wanted just to unite all the pirates of the world, he had loftier ambitions - to take over the world.
Capturing a group of islands of the coast of South America, they became the base of the PIC. More and more ships join the fleet every day, and it is most certainly a force to be reckoned with. Essex now turned his eye to the British Isles, and decided that it would be the next place they would capture. Starting with the Island of Sodor, and moving on to the Isle of Mann and Ireland, and finally England itself. This has not yet come to fruition yet, but with a huge army of ships, filled with some of the fiercest and bravest fighters from around the world, it's quite possible that it will happen.
All in all, the Piracy Internation Coalition is a force to be reckoned with, and not one you'd want to pick a fight with! Respected by seamen from around the world, and unable to be stopped by any country, this fleet is legendary and one that will continue to terrorize the seas for years to come.

BTW the commander of a fleet is an admiral or commodore depending on the size, but otherwise, it's pretty good, though Essex's first name I can't really comprehend or pronounce for the life of me

Hey guys, I'll be working on making a page for the PIC on the wiki today. If anyone has any suggestions for new characters within there ranks, I'd be happy to take them. Maybe even come up with a picture or something for them if you care to.
