"Why won't my mind just let me rest! I'm trying to pay for my sins!" he shouted out of his cell's only window...
...
Meanwhile, Finnegan was speaking to the Mob's Boss, finally making his appearance in London...
"Sir, we've been trying to take him out, but Gunnarson is so wrapped up with the law, every since that case, he's been hard to nail..." said Finnegan
"Finn, my loyal follower, i don't care if he was the Bloody King of England! You're putting the name of Irish Leader Ryan O'Connor on the line! I don't care about what it takes anymore, we're moving into 'that' plan!" shouted O'Connor
"But Sir, the civilians?" questioned Finnegan before he was interrupted...
"This is our only option Finn, deal with it! He's brought shame to the mob's name, so it's our only option left and that's final!" shouted O'Connor as he left the room...
"Murphy, get the equipment, we're moving into 'that plan..." Finnegan said into the phone, before hanging up so Murphy couldn't argue...
Meanwhile...

At a warehouse, the trucks with the equipment that was secured was now alive with activity from Irishmen.
"We've got to get these weapons out, and do it tonight" one said.
"Finnegan will probably have our hides if we don't get this done" said another.
"For Christ's sake, we've already lost O'Leary and Callaghan, and a good dozen or so others. How much more blood are we prepared to spill just for some damn weapons?!" A shell-shocked Connolly asked; he still had not recovered from seeing his brother get shot right in front of him.

Meanwhile, Poirot and Hastings were taking a walk to clear their heads. Everything was confusing; the trial should have happened by now, but with Taylor's death...

But back at the warehouse really quickly...
"Snap out of it Connolly!" shouted Murphy, who had just arrived and was pissed at Finn's one word call...
"Murphy, what are you doing here?" asked Mulligan
"Finn just called me, to finish off Gunnarson, we're moving into 'that' plan so we can finally leave this place, while some guys get the plan set up, the rest will wait at the docks for the smuggler to get the cache to Dublin..." replied Murphy
"Alright, we'll get what we need for that then, and we'll get the trucks loaded up again..." replied Kelly
"You heard Murphy!" shouted Mulligsn, 'Get those trucks loaded now or I'll put a bullet in you myself instead of the Boss!"
The Mob got to work as preparations to leave London, and kill Gunnarson, were put in place...
Meanwhile...

"They are waiting for a new prosecutor to take over the case; they have to bring him up to speed you know" Hastings explained.
Gunnarson and Hartley ran into them.
"I know this might be beyond your expertise... but I was wondering if you may be able to help me with something" Gunnarson asked.

"Go ahead my friend..." replied Poirot
"So what's your track record with cases dealing with poison?"

"I've had many poison cases over the years... why, my first case in England was where an old lady was poisoned by strychnine."

"Well I have reason to suspect that Manning and Piorier's Merlot bottle may have been drugged. Because something is not adding up here..."
FLASHBACK, Day of Dr. Manning's murder.
Dr. Herbert Manning was setting a table for dinner. Things had been rather chaotic with the war, so a nice meal to catch up with an old friend was a refreshing change of pace. Then he heard s knock on the door.
"Yes?"
"Hello old friend."
"Ah, Dr. Drugg; what brings you here?" Manning asked.
"Dr. Poirier told me about your dinner tonight; thought you might like this." He said, handing over a bottle.
"Authentic Merlot? But how?"
"Saved some bottles from before the war started. Though Poirier may appreciate the touch of home."
"Thanks Drugg. Wait... This is open."
"I hope you will forgive me... I had to take a drink before I came here, to make sure it was still fine"
"Oh, no worries. I had better get back to setting up though" Manning explained.
"I understand... Good night Manning."
"Good night Drugg."
(Hours later)
The two doctors are sitting down to a nice meal. After finishing their glasses, they enter a dazed, sleepy state. From the shadows, Dr. Drugg mysteriously emerged, and picked up one of Manning's knives. After stabbing him in the neck in a special way, he turned his attention to Piorier.
"Now listen carefully, for when you awake, you will think that you killed Manning. You had an argument over research you had done, and stabbed him in anger. You will run away in fear, but once confronted, you will confess and feel great remorse. Is that clear?"
"Yeeeesssss..." Piorier replied.
"Good. The cocktail I whipped up will expire in a couple minutes, so I'll leave now."
And Drugg left the room quietly, no one ever knowing anyone was there.

Now that I think about it, Dr. Drugg probably makes the better "James Moriarty" role than Taylor. In fact, wait until the end; I've got a cliffhanger in mind that will make things really interesting,

I agree, can't wait to see your cliffhanger.

END FLASHBACK
Just then, Gunnarson had an idea.

"Does the Merlot bottle still exist?"
"It should; evidence like that has to be preserved"
"I have an idea". And Gunnarson ran off.
"Where is he going?" Poirot asked
"No idea" Hartley replied.
Some time later, he arrived at Gent's office
"The merlot bottle from the Manning case; I need it retrieved from evidence holding"

"Alright," said Gent. He opened up the safe where the Merlot bottle stood. "What the..."
There stood the pieces of what once was a Merlot bottle.

(It wouldn't be a safe; it would be a holding room)
"Who was the incompetent stooge that packaged this?! I will have your head on a platter for this!!" Gent fumed.
"That's not what I'm after though" he explained. Gunnarson picked up the intact lower half with liquid inside "it's the contents."
Some time later, in the laboratory a couple scientists were analyzing the contents.
"It will take a while, but we will submit the report by the end of the day; luckily we aren't working on other cases so it will be quicker than usual" the scientist explained.
Meanwhile, Gent had called a detective into his office.
"You were the last person on the chain of custody to sign, therefore you broke the bottle. Turn over your badge immediately, you are relieved of duty!" Gent fumed.

"What?! But I didn't break the bottle!" "Yeah, and I'm a jailbird." "But I'm serious!"

"DON'T PLAY GAMES WITH ME!" Gent fumed. "You know as well as I do that the evidence room is one of the most secure rooms in the city! No one is allowed to handle evidence without signing for it, and since you were the last one to sign, you were the last to handle the bottle!" Gent Said, remaining surprisingly rational despite being angry.

The detective was forced to hand over his badge and left the room saddened.
"And to think, he was top of his class" Gent grumbled.
......
Some time later, Gent and Gunnarson met to discuss the lab findings.
"The analysis showed a concoction of 7 different drugs. Put together, they seem to make you enter a deep sleep, and you enter a state where you are not quite consciousnes, but are extremely prone to suggestion." The scientist explained.
"Quite a cocktail" Gent observed.
"Drugg..." Gunnarson said under his breath.

After they left the room, Gent said to Gunnarson, "I can't believe that that stupid police officer would break the glass." "What?" said Gunnarson, "A police officer did it... yes, that makes sense!" "Huh?" "Think about it. If he were injected with the drugs that were in that Merlot bottle, he could have been told to break the bottle, and voila! he breaks the bottle!" "What are you getting at?"

"The officer in question... What if he was drugged?" Gunnarson asked.
"It's possible... But how can we prove it?"
"The detective you fired... Where does he live?"
20 minutes later, Gunnarson arrived at the now former detective's home.
"Yes?"
"This may sound weird but... Have you recently had contact with Dr. Drugg?" Gunnarson asked.

"Dr. Drugg?" "Yes, he is a very respected doctor." "No, I haven't." "Hmm... well, who were the last doctors you saw?" "Um... Dr. Fitchet, Dr. Montgomery, and Dr. Deth."
"Check out Drs. Fitchet, Montgomery, and Deth. One of them is probably a fake," Gunnarson told Gent sometime later.
