One of the most powerful Colormen, his power is regarded as unmatched, as he has complete understanding of physics and the space time continuum. And yet, he rarely uses his powers to such extents, and almost always stays in his plane between dimensions. This is his origin.
The Man In Bright Turquoise started life as a brilliant Physicist named Winston Farley. A prodigy from an early age, he already had his PhD by the time he was 19 years old.
He had become fascinated by the idea of time travel, parallel dimensions and the like, but rather than approach them with pseudoscience, he decided to take real physics and see if it was possible.
A decade of research lead to what he considered the apex of his career- "The Gateway" as he called it. And yet, he would not brag about his achievement.
"I am not doing this for the glory, fame or money- I am doing this because I want to see where the limit of human ingenuity lies" he would tell others.
The day came where he would test his experiment. But before he did, his father presented him with a gift.
"It is your turn my son; show the world that it is possible to master science and magic" he said. And with that, he passed on the powers of the Man In Bright Turquoise.
That was 1960; the Bright Turquoise line went into hiding when the Prism shattered, away from Sodor to keep a low profile.
In August that year, the Now Man In Bright Turquoise went forward with his experiment. Surprisingly, despite the limited technology he had, it looked like it was going to work. But then, a fuse blew and the experiment failed. He went to bed that night feeling like a failure.
But hours later, he heard a noise coming from his lab. When he went back, he was surprised to see that a weird looking crack had formed in The Gateway. As he got closer, it seemed to get brighter and bigger, almost blinding him. He decided to turn back, but to his surprise he was suddenly pulled into this crack, as if being sucked into this Gateway by a vacuum.
He found that he wound up being sucked into another dimensional plane... but nothing was there. It was empty, blank, a void.
After spending several "days" in this void, he found that he no longer felt hunger, thirst, tired or anything really. He simply existed.
He thought he would go insane, but the unthinkable happened- a voice began speaking to him.
"Ah, I see that you have figured out how to leave your plane of existence. Impressive, you are the first human to do so. Why did you do it?" The voice asked.
"To see how far I could push the limits of human ingenuity" he replied. "It seems I went too far" he said defeated.
"On the contrary, your journey has merely begun. How would you like to take a backstage tour of reality?" The voice said.
"I seek to learn" Bright Turquoise replied eagerly.
"Then let us begin."
Bright Turquoise spent his time there learning. He is not entirely sure what happened, since he was there for so long, but he does remember that "I learned nonstop...every second of my existence was learning how reality works. How to make reality...how to destroy reality...how to change reality."
He learned all there was to know. He had acquired total mastery and understanding of physics and the space time continuum... something considered impossible.
"I... just wish I could go home now" Bright Turquoise said. "But, I must have been here for thousands of years... the world must have changed so much." He sadly said.
"25,000 to be precise" the voice replied. "You can go home now- with your new knowledge, you can go anywhere and anywhen within reason. But be warned- enormous power such as yours is not to be used lightly. You could do anything from alter time to destroy a galaxy... and yet, I sense that is not what you want" The voice observed.
"I...I am a good man. My powers should only be used responsibly. I swear that as long as I live, I will only use the greatest extent of my powers when there is no other option present" he said back.
"Well said. Now, return to your dimension... but I suggest you return to the year 2014. You will find that year more desirable" the voice suggested.
Eager to finally return home. Man In bright Turquoise opened a doorway and walked back home.
"Such power in the hands of a mortal man... I wonder how he will handle it? As the sole wielder of such power, he has no rival. And yet I sense that in due time, another shall rise" the voice said before going quiet.
When Bright Turquoise emerged, he was shocked to find that The Prism, the artifact he barely remembered legends of, was intact again, and the Colormen reunited and a force for good.
As he approached the "Great Hall" he heard so much about, he walked inside to find a man standing there.
"Hello there...you must be the Man In Bright Turquoise. Welcome home; your line has been long missing"
To his shock, he could not remember his original name; but the Color was enough to reawaken some old memories.
"Yes... yes I am the Man In Bright Turquoise. But, you probably won't believe my story" he said with reservation.
"Try me" Man In Blue said as Bright Turquoise finally welcomed himself back into "existence."
In a few days, I'll follow up with the story of his pocket dimension.
