Come one, come all to the Evergreen Amusement Park, and while you're here be sure to take a ride on one of our Star Attractions, the Evergreen Minimum Gauge Railway. This 8 mile loop of track takes you where you need to go in comfort, with stops at the north, south, east and west end of the Park, and a stop at our own hotel, the Evergreen Inn.
Take a ride on any one of our trains; our fleet of four will get you were you need to go one time, all the time.
Charles and Lester are our steam engines. Dating back to the turn of the century, these old timers may look like they've seen better days, but they work as hard as ever. From a distance, it may be hard to tell them apart as they both wear the distinctive Black and green livery of the mine they used to work for, but we assure you, they aren't twins, even if both were built in 1902. Charles has 10 wheels, in a 2-8-0 formation and Lester has 12 wheels, in a 4-6-2 formation. Keep that in mind next time you see them!
Alden is a bit newer than our steam engines, having been built in 1951. A diesel engine, he spent his life working on a private railway before coming to work for us, so if you see him, and he looks away, don't worry, he's not angry at you; he's just quite bashful and not used to the attention, as he's not used to having this many passengers.
And then there is the newest member of our line up- Diesel 7. Sometimes you''ll see him operate with no one in the cab. Don't worry, you're not on a runaway, Diesel 7 is the latest in a line of self driving engines called the Numbered Diesels. That's right, this diesel can operate without a driver, thanks to his Automated Programming System. We can't be too careful though, so we only let him go driverless every so often. But if your on one of his trains where he is going on his own, be excited, because your in a train being pulled by the first Numbered Diesel designed to pull passenger trains.
So come on down to the Evergreen Amusement Park... our trains are ready and waiting.
