Here, we can actually discuss this line of Diesels, and perhaps fill in the rest of the numbers in between 1 and 10. I don't really know much about them, but this will be a good thread to learn about them. I know Diesel 11 created these guys (except Diesel 10, and 11 if I recall correctly), so out of respect to him I will only create Diesel 13 and leave the rest in his hands.
So... here we go:
Diesel 1- Diesel 2- Diesel 3- Diesel 4- Diesel 5- Diesel 6- Diesel 7- Diesel 8- Diesel 9- Diesel 10- Most famous; lives on Sodor, and somehow does not need a driver. Diesel 11- Diesel 12- Diesel 13- Considered a "jinx." Despite being a Class 40 like the othes, he was always breaking down, whether it was his engine, cooling system, or derailing. He's actually quite a nice fellow, oddly enough, he's just really unlucky. His owner got fed up with him, so he was put in an old shed somewhere near Knapford, the rails leading up to the shed were removed, and he was forgotten. Though sad, he understands why and is currently sleeping, like Duke. They tried to put a claw on him, but it always broke down and it was decided to be removed all together. Diesel 5000 XL-

Great job, Frank! I'm proud to consider D13 a member of my team (as I own the Numbered Diesels in 3wsr).
I'll fill in the rest: Diesel 1- The first made, he is a smaller version of the others, but without the claw. He was discovered rusting away in a scrapyard by the others, and brought to my attention. I then fixed him up. Diesel 2 [NOT YET MADE] Diesel 3 [NOT YET MADE] Diesel 4 [NOT YET MADE] Diesel 5 [NOT YET MADE] Diesel 6 [NOT YET MADE] Diesel 7 [NOT YET MADE] Diesel 8 [NOT YET MADE] Diesel 9 [NOT YET MADE] Diesel 10- Most famous; lives on Sodor, and somehow does not need a driver. (Actually, all of them don't need a driver.) Diesel 11- Created by Scratchpad Wiki, he is even more warped than Diesel 10, and has two claws. Diesel 12- Even MORE warped, he is slightly bigger than the previous two, but (luckily) has just one claw. Diesel 13- Considered a "jinx." Despite being a Class 40 like the othes, he was always breaking down, whether it was his engine, cooling system, or derailing. Diesel 5000 XL- My personal creation, he is the biggest and worst. He wants to destroy all engines (even diesels, but not his brothers). He has 5 claws, and almost always has an evil grin/frown.
I also want to create a love interest for Diesel 10. If you can come up with a name for her, I would be much obliged.

Diesel 9: Narrow Gauge Diesel 8: Mountain Engine with two back to back claws, like Culdee, they are not two seperate characters. Diesel 7: Minimum Gauge Diesel 6: G scale Diesel 5: HO scale, also commonly referred to as "Bachmann Diesel 10" Diesel 4: N scale Diesel 3: possibly the love interest you are looking for
Now we just need diesel 2

I'm Actually not sure about some of the diesels being models; but I do like 9, 8 and 7. Diesel 11, what do you think?

Diesel 9 being narrow gauge sounds fine. Diesel 8 as a mountain engine is excellent. I had that idea in my mind, actually. Diesel 7 being minimum gauge sounds fine. For the rest, no. They're great ideas and all, but these diesels are BROTHERS. This is also the reason that Diesel 3 can't be the 'love interest'. She needs to have a different/real name.
Thanks for the ideas! And remember: you can come up with as many as you like. You could go up to googol if you want to, I'll just be the checker for them, and the master list editor.

Here's my proposals:
Diesel 5- a class 40 like most of the others. When an engine was brought in to replace him because he was getting old, he was desperate to be saved. He was bought by a theme park (of all places) and is used as a set decoration for a stunt show twice a day at that park. His scene involves a train crossing a bridge that suddenly collapses. While he wishes he could run on a track again, he does appreciate not having been sent to the scrapyard
Diesel 2- Is actually hidden behind the Diesel-works as a parts engine. Whenever a diesel engine has a part break, they take it off him. Reason he's a parts engine is because years ago his cooling system suffered a "catastrophic failure" and because he was an older train (for the time), it was deemed that it would have cost more to repair him than he was actually worth. Though he is still 70% intact, he knows and accepts that eventually, he will be reduced to nothing.
Diesel 6- Identical in appearance to Diesel 10, except instead of a claw, he has a foam cannon on top of him (for fires where you can't use water)

7, 8, and 9 were actually mentioned in 3wsr at one point. Also, Diesel 16 (broad gauge) appears.
In my ongoing SiF fanfiction, one character, who has yet to be formally introduced, serves as a implied love interest, although it's never explicitly stated. However, I'd prefer to leave her identity secret until the big reveal in the story, so we maybe can't use her.

Oh yeah, 7 8 and 9 were mentioned, but I remember I did it and they were the exact same as the ones I put down already! That's sort of cool I guess

Thanks for the suggestions! Here's my official ruling:
Diesel 5- Sounds interesting. I'm not going to add him to the official list yet, though, because I'd like him to have a different number than 5.
Diesel 2- I love this idea, and the number fits him, but I can't accept this. These diesels are brothers, so they wouldn't accept his parts in the first place.
Diesel 6- Perfect. I'm adding him.
Diesel 16- I'll add him in once I know a little more about him. If you know something about him, please let me know.
Thanks, and keep up the good suggestions!

Hmm... well what if the parts were going to other diesels, like Salty, Dart, Paxton, etc. Plus being behind the Dieselworks, no one could see him.
I just thought it might make a good plot later on, but I understand.

It may make a good plot, but not yet.

But wouldn't that be a lot like Quicksilver's backstory?

It actually would. However, it's also like Diesel 13's backstory. And since we're still working out how Diesel 13 is being found, I don't really want to confuse things yet with D2.

Diesel 13 is more like that one LNER engine that the engines found

Yes, that's a good point. But still, I don't think we need a scrap metal engine.

Good point; maybe instead of a parts engine, he can be something else.
Regardless, will Diesel 13 be found? We will just have to wait for the next installment of the story.

Well you did just walk out of the shed, to go to the shed with the director's cut, so it will probably be a while, lol.

D16 was just briefly mentioned. All we know is that he's broad gauge. I will see if I can find a basis.
