Allow me to explain these stories.
These stories take place in a 'different' TTTE universe. The engines can drive themselves, and there is magic here. However, it still retains the Awdrian sense of realism, in the fact that the engines must adhere to railway regulations.
The first set of stories will star -
Frank Sinatra as Thomas the Tank Engine Sammy Davis, Jr. as Percy the Saddle-Tank Engine Dean Martin as James the Red Engine Alfred Hitchcock as Gordon the Big Express Engine Laurence Olivier as Henry the Green Engine Alec Guinness as Toby the Tram Engine Sir John Gielgud as Edward the Blue Engine Vincent Price as Diesel 10
I hope you will enjoy these stories.

Vincent Price as Diesel 10? Interesting... Can't wait to see what you come up with, docknickerbocker!

THOMAS-MANIA
PART ONE - BUFFERING
Thomas the Tank Engine was shunting in the yards. He sighed.
"It's been so long since I've had an adventure.." He chuffed along, whistling forlornly to James (who was collecting milk tankers), Toby (who was shunting the grains), and Percy (who was collecting one of the old Victorian-era coaches to be refurbished).
Toby whispered to Percy. "Young master Thomas seems quite miserable today." "I know, I feel bad for him." "He's been like that all week." Interjected James. "Something about 'adventure." Henry and Duck hummed. "We should help him!" Proposed Henry. "But how..?" Asked Duck.
Thomas huffed out of the yards, bringing with him a line of clattering box cars.
What happened next, no one knows. Perhaps the coupling was not fastened, perhaps the cars were playing tricks, perhaps Thomas absent-mindedly bumped the cars too hard, and uncoupled them. Anyways, the line of cars rolled down the grade, picking up speed, and smashed into poor Duck (who was taking on water at the time.)
But Thomas was far up the line by now, unable to do a thing about it. Why?
He was a runaway.
His driver and fireman were still at the station breakroom, sipping coffee and chatting with Sir Topham Hatt, Jem Cole, and the Vicar about the horse races. How the engine started is a mystery to this day (some speculate it was a strong wind against the levers, others say some silly children did the deed). Anyway, he rolled along, picking up speed as he did so.
The other engines, taking note of the engine's plight, whistled and called for him, but to no avail.
Thomas was completely unaware of these two events until he puffed past Elsbridge without stopping - he was going too fast, anyways. Then, it dawned upon him.
"Oh nooo!" He wailed.
He sped down the line. He sped past Henry (who had been tasked to find and stop him), past Gordon, and past Donald and Douglas. A signalman took pity upon the poor creature, and heaved the switch, diverting him onto a disused branch. He whizzed past bushes, into brambles, and over briars. Finally, he rounded a corner, and spotted a pair of buffers. He was, at first, relieved - but then realized how fast he was going. The buffers wouldn't stop him, no - they would send him crashing, covered with splinters and metal brackets, tumbling down the hills and fields, smashing into a barn or two, and into the garden of Mrs. Kyndley (who would, knowing her, capture the attention of all people from there to Ballahoo with her screaming and fainting).
"Aaaah!" He cried, and shut his eyes tightly.
END OF PART ONE

This reads like one of the RS or TV stories. Excellent work, docknickerbocker, and keep it up!
