For years, I have been hinting at how there are also artifacts of pure evil, to balance out the Prism, which is an artifact of Moral Good (but only indirectly, because the Spirit of the Prism, as the Spirit of Order, decided that "good" was the morality that came closest to his desire for order)
So here they are, a sample of some of the artifacts of Pure Evil:
............
Armor of Velmanus
To the naked eye, it looks just like a complete set of armor, except for one clear difference; instead of the normal gray associated with such armor, this armor was an unnatural, crimson red color. If one looks closely, the armor is pulsing, breathing, almost as if it were alive.
Velmaus was a warrior-mage of the middle ages infamous for his hunger for battle. In his words, he would even start wars with groups he didn't know, just to "satiate my sword's hunger for blood." The armor he wore was enhanced with earth magic and dark magic, making it stronger and giving him quite unnatural strength. There are multiple accounts of him walking up to massive trebuchet catapults... and tipping them over with his bare hands.
It took a combined force of more than 10,000 to finally defeat him. Disoriented with light magic and immobilized with lightning magic, earth magic was used to restrain him as fire mages "cooked him alive in his own armor."
Refusing to go silently, he vowed to "return and drown the world in endless combat" before passing on... or so it seemed.
when his remains were approached, those gathered did what they thought was the smart thing... remove what was left of the body from the armor and cremate it, ensuring no possibility of his return. Then, the unthinkable- the armor became animated and started attacking the warriors and mages gathered. Those gathered fought fiercely, but as the armor was not "alive" it could not be "killed." The armor killed over 100, with witnesses observing "red mist gravitating from the fallen bodies towards the armor, turning the flat gray into a crimson red." It was not until the armor was frozen in ice that the rampage finally stopped. Some theorize that Velmanus cursed the armor to "avenge" him, while others speculate he somehow transferred his very soul into the armor (NOTE: The Spirit type Colormen have found this explanation unlikely).
Today, the armor remains frozen in ice, maintained by a dutiful group of ice mages. Its exact location remains secret, with the public only aware that it is deep within the dungeons of a castle far from any modern city.
