THE CRIMINAL WORLD OF LITERARY MOSAIC
At the top of the "pyramid" are the most dangerous men in London, the Crime Lords. There are four: Lord Bury, Napoleon, Shadow and The One-Eyed Man.
Lord Bury leads the Ripper Underground; a "traditional" crime syndicate, they have several ongoing operations in various "fields" Lord Bury sits on top, followed by a "board of directors" consisting of his most trusted lieutenants.
The Ripper Underground membership is estimated at 6,000
Napoleon leads the Army of the Fallen; a criminal syndicate that operates much like a military operation. Members are often referred to by military ranks based on hierarchy; i.e. gangs are referred to as "squads" and the five "squads" to a town are known as a "platoon." More detailed:
A "squad" consists of 10 members. There are five squads to a platoon. There are three platoons to a company. There are three companies to a battalion. There are three battalions to a brigade. There are two Brigades to a division, and two divisions in the Army of the Fallen. Their exact plans are unknown, but are probably similar goals to the Rippers.
Thus, Army of the fallen membership is estimated at 5,400
Shadow leads the Brotherhood of the Dark. Mostly grunts, petty criminals and "lower level" crimes, the Brotherhood nonetheless has ambitious plans for the future. "The plan" is slowly coming together, and they will soon emerge.
Brotherhood of the Dark membership is estimated at 7,000
The One-Eyed Man leads the Spider's Web. The most mysterious of the syndicates, their exact goals and operations are unknown. All that is known is that they are a decentralized network of lon wolves, and in most cases the members of the organization are only connected to a handful of other members.
They are substantially smaller than the other syndicates, with only a few hundred members. However, the One-Eyed Man is an established figure with an almost legendary reputation; almost every major criminal in England is connected to him in some way
