In the works board I made a thread about a TTTE-TUGS canon, read up on that then come back here
Basic rules for this game: this rewrite takes place after Season 20 and The Great Race, as to allow CGI series characters to exist Season 12 is currently not canon, we may continue the rewrite past TGD to rewrite Season 12 and then end the rewrite at the start of Season 21, and end of Season 12
So, now that that is done, Toz, you came up with the idea for the starting bit and as I have not seen The Great Race you're gonna have to write that bit in for me, I'll do the Bertram bit though

It was a few days after the engines had returned from the Great Race, and Thomas was staring wistfully out at the sea. Ashima had returned to India, and he was missing his generic new friend very much.
"Thomas! Get back to work!" Salty yelled.
"Sorry, my driver's gone to the WC."
"That be no reason to be starin' out to sea like that."
Thomas sighed. "I miss Ashima."
"Oh, boo hoo hoo, we already did this plot with Gator and Percy." Cranky snapped. "Pull yourself together."
Porter was much more sympathetic. "Don't worry, Thomas. I'm sure you'll see her again someday. In the meantime, there's another rack-and-pinion railway engine that needs coal. I don't suppose you could take this up to Kirk Machan for me?"
Thomas agreed heartily.

Thomas couldn't quite think of another engine like Ashima on Sodor, but when he got to Kirk Machan in the middle of the night he realized who Porter was talking about. Alaric, the number 7 mountain engine, was out of coal, and the hopper was empty. "Alaric!" Thomas said, causing the nearby Douglas to stir in his sleep. Douglas was pulling Bertram, the narrow gauge tank engine on a flatbed, to the Tallylyn Railway on the mainland so the creator of Bertram's Basis, Sir Michael Erikson, could demonstrate his creation and convince the Tallylyn to get an engine like it. Douglas, who was pulling Bertram's Flatbed, as well as his driver and fireman, and Bertram's Driver and Fireman, who were coming along for the trip, were sleeping so they could get an early start in the morning. Bertram however, was not asleep. He was up full of his regular adventurousness, and had an idea. "Thomas, Alaric, I have a demonstration of the mindlessness of tired humans."
Recently, the Culdee Fell Railway got a device that allows Culdee Fell engines on flatbeds to move onto rails without the use of a crane, the standard gauge engine would simply back the flatbed up to an open ended rail and the driver inside the engine could move onto the rails. Bertram whispered to his asleep driver and fireman. "Hey! Wake up, we have a night shift tonight" Bertram said. His crew was tired after the long day, and weren't thinking straight, so without thinking, they moved Bertram forward off of the flatbed and onto Culdee fell rails. Thomas was amazed as Bertram puffed past Alaric and up the mountain.
The Culdee Fell Railway had recently started a mining operation, so engines were bringing stone down the mountain all night. Bertram didn't have the gears of a mountain engine, but he still managed to move up the steep rails. Patrick was bringing stone down the mountain, and upon seeing Bertram whistled loudly, this fully awoke Bertram's Driver and Fireman, upon seeing Patrick in front of them they reversed quickly. Too quickly. Bertram was rocketing down the mountain rails, and laughing all the way. The crew jumped out of Bertram right before he took a corner too fast and tumbled down the mountain. Patrick only had one word for what happened, and it was quite fitting. "Idiot."
Gonna edit this later, don't post yet

Archived due to being too TTTE specific and departure of a key writer of this game
