In response to Toz's VEC Timeline, and because I need inspiration for future stories, this timeline coincides with his, with the primary difference being that this focuses on the Colormen's side of things.
1131:
March: The Spirit of the Prism "cuts off" the Man In Bronze; he is no longer powered by the prism, his staff turns to ash, and "knowledge of Colormen-specific spells is stripped." However, because he had some things written down, he is able to retain some knowledge, i.e. the composition of Vallerium, and more than likely a few other Colormen alloys. (plus other things we can't really establish right now because nothing has been written of this yet)
November: After the Colormen suffer their first defeat at the hands of VEC; they proceed to learn from what happened so as to be more effective in future battles. At this point, there are 500 Colormen; a new wave of recruitment begins. Number of lineages increases to 576
1132:
July: Upon becoming the Blood Alchemist, the Spirit of the Prism "cuts him off" just like he did for the Man In Bronze. He is no longer powered by the Prism, and "knowledge of Colormen-specific spells is stripped." However, he may have relearned some things through the Bronze Mage (again, things written down)
September: After the killing of Man In Sea Green, his son takes title. Vivian Bloodsphere is declared an "enemy of the Sudrian People" for killing one of its sworn protectors.
1133:
March: After the deaths of seven Colormen, the Spirit informs them of how the Power of the Prism extends beyond life. The first known instance of Colormen spirits returning and fighting to defend Sodor is observed when the seven fallen Colormen successfully repel a VEC raid on another town.
August: After the Battle of Wellsworth, more Sudrians, enraged at the VEC's attacks, volunteer to be tested by The Prism to see if they are worthy. Number of lineages increases to 612
1134:
August: After the Battle of Culdee Fell, many aging Colormen willingly decide to step down so their sons can take over; reasoning that by this time VEC has seen most of their skills and moves, and this changing of the Guard will grant a degree of uncertainty the VEC are not prepared for.
October: VEC breaks into the Great Hall and kills 37 Colormen, but suffers a good deal of losses themselves (mostly generic grunts/troops). They failed to enter the archives though- Man In Gold "barred the doors with magic so pure any evil that dared touch it turned to ash" (to this day, no one knows what that means). The reactivation of the anti-evil field forces them to retreat. After this attack, the anti-evil barrier is "strengthened hundred-fold."
When word spreads about Man In Bronze and Man In Blood turning their backs on the people of Sodor, the king declares them to be traitors. (Which would make sense; given that as Colormen they were the sworn protectors of Sodor, until they turned evil).
November: After VEC goes dormant, the Council of 12 go throughout Sodor on a speaking tour. After the war that had been going for the last four years, though most of Sodor still had faith in the Colormen, there were a few scattered groups who thought otherwise. In a series of impassioned speeches, the Colormen tell of how this fight has been one of their hardest yet; until now, they fought others with knowledge no other group had, which gave them a clear advantage. However, now, with this new faction, which included two ex-Colormen, that somehow (to be determined by Toz) retained a fair amount of Colormen knowledge, now they were fighting an enemy that also knew a good deal of their tricks. It something not even the Colormen expected, because the powers of the Prism are meant to be unique. They go on to say that the time has come for VEC to pay for their actions. So the people of Sodor rally behind the Colormen, and one Sudrian Noble famously declares "if they have the audacity to kill 87 Colormen, then I will personally see to it that you get 176 new recruits!" And true to his word, this noble scoured Sodor, helping many men get to the Prism to be tested. By the end of the year, there are 850 Colormen.
1135:
April: Arthur Blackson (Man In Black) takes down the Great Horned Beast, cementing himself in Sudrian legend as a great hero (in the same vein as the legend of St. George and the dragon)
