How are the spirits of the Colormen of old still influencing Colormen today? Why? Who are they anyway? Is there a family tree? We need answers!

Well, let's start with the original, Matthew Erdagovern himself.
He was a scholar of the time, and convinced Sudrians to accept ideas that were otherwise rejected by the Western world of the time, include:
.the concept of zero .mercury should not be used as a medicine .scietific advancment should not be hindered by church beliefs
He was the one called forth to examine the Prism when it was found by King Godred's men, and encountered the spirit of the Prism, who made him the man in blue, and gave him his blade.
He later created a cart that could move "without horse or on" and though it is real, the current generation of Colormen have no idea how to make it work.
though he was familiar with the ideas of alchemy, thanks to knowledge he was granted by The Prism, he never practiced it, and even outright discouraged it, considering it "both preposterous and utter nonsense," however, if other Colormen wanted to practice and research it, he wouldn't get in the way, reasoning that "surely they will find something useful here."
the recent discovery of an alchemy lab beneath the Great Hall verified this claim

As crazy as it sounds... I think I will give creating a "Colorman Family tree" a shot one day.
Granted, I will only do the Man In Blue, but it would still be quite the feat... there a lot of holes to fill between Matthew Erdagovern and Daniel Erdagovern.

We do have Thomas Erdagovern, from the Shattering of the Prism.

Very true, that is one link in the chain; but I wonder if I can fill in the others? It will have to wait though, I have much to do this week.
