80: Hail To The KingMetalizerKicking off our list is obviously, the worst Sabaton song. Metalizer is a very "meh" album as a whole, so it should come to no surprise that one of its tracks is the lowest here. Hail To The King starts off decently, with a pretty nicely paced verse, but the chorus just sounds bored. Sabaton haven't released a band song though, so while it's definitely meh, it's mainly because most of their material is so strong. Most of the next few posts will also feature Metalizer tracks, so let's say that the "loser" of this countdown is very close. Listen:Overall:{Spoiler}80 - Hail To The King Yes guys, it's here! Sabaton, ranked from worst-to-best, is finally happening. It's taken many listens to assemble but for now I'm pretty satisfied with it. 80 songs total, including everything from their eight official albums: Primo Victoria Attero Dominatus Metalizer The Art of War Coat of Arms Carolus Rex Heroes The Last StandPlus a bonus track from The Art of War which I think deserves inclusion. Enjoy, or whatever.

79: Burn Your CrossesMetalizerAt first glance of the title, you'd think that this song is about the KKK. Well, it isn't. It's actually about how the invention of God has caused problems for mankind and we should free ourselves and just enjoy our lives down here. Which, I can get behind this, but the execution of the idea isn't the greatest and the music is straight-up some of the worst on Metalizer. This might actually be worse than Hail To The King, but again, these ones in the back-end are all pretty eh and I could swap 'em depending on the day. 78: ShadowsMetalizerAgain, more Metalizer. This album isn't atrocious but it's definitely one of the mis-steps of their discography. Fun fact: It was supposed to be their debut but ended up getting pushed back to becoming their third album and Primo Victoria and Attero Dominatus preceded it instead. In fact, listening to the album gives you a tinge of fear because of how Sabaton could've remained any other power metal band but also a wave of relief because thanks to PV they managed to figure out a different way of doing power metal - yeah, the war theme isn't present on this album at all. Anyways... again, not a bad song per se, but there are many better. And the way Joakim sings "Shadow King... find my ring". LMAO, this is pure cheese. 77: SpeederMetalizerFun Fact: This song is blocked on YouTube so you have to go elsewhere to listen to it. Nice. I love a good scavenger hunt now and then. Great stuff. Much fun. Anyways, as a friend of mine pointed out, this is a laughably bad chorus. One of the songs that highlights how "meh" Joakim sounds on Metalizer. Not that he's bad - it's still the same awesome Swedish accent thing goin' on, but it would take a bit of perfecting, it seems. Again, not bad, but bottom-tier Sabaton definitely. 76: ThundergodsMetalizerUnlike the other songs, this one isn't really... better per se. In fact, it's more an "eh" song than the others so far. Nothing more than your standard power metal song fare. At its heart it has a decent riff, but it's overwhelmed by the keyboard. Solo is decent too. Otherwise... yeah. Nothing much of worth or note about it. 75: ThunderstormMetalizerYep, the two thunderous Metalizer songs back-to-back. Thunderstorm actually does a pretty decent job of translating a thunderstorm into music, but it's still not the best song ever. The honest truth is that if anyone other than Sabaton had released Metalizer, I and many other people wouldn't give half a shit. There's way better cheese to savor than can be found within this beast thing. 74: MetalizerMetalizer
Yep, the title track. Metalizer is a... more decent anthem than most of the album, but it's still Cheesy as all fuck. Really nothing more than a generic song any other power metal band could have made. And production is pure shite. Phew. 73: Masters of the WorldMetalizerI'm actually surprised by myself at putting this song higher than most of the others on the album, because it's actually the cheesiest on the entire record. Holy fuck is it cheesy. It's also catchy, but not the good kind. It's merely a metalhead talking about how metal is dying but NO! WE'LL NEVER FALL! WE'RE THE MASTERS OF THE WORLD! Ehhhhhhhhhhh. And now we're actually going to finally leave Metalizer for a song and head elsewhere into the discography for track #72... 72: SpartaThe Last StandFinally not a track from Metalizer! Alas, Sabaton's latest offering, The Last Stand, is a thoroughly underwhelming affair. Carolus Rex from 2012 was a masterpiece, and the follow-up, Heroes, wasn't the best by any means, but it was catchy and had some genuine classics in its ranks. The Last Stand, however... Sabaton shouldn't be releasing this kind of tripe so far into their discography. Probably worse than Metalizer, all things considered. You can tell it's meh from the opening track on the album - Sparta. It's... kinda catchy, but the production is shit and the writing and music and lyrics... ugh. At least the Metalizer tracks are kinda interesting. Listen:{Spoiler} Overall:{Spoiler}72 - Sparta 73 - Masters of the World 74 - Metalizer 75 - Thunderstorm 76 - Thundergods 77 - Speeder 78 - Shadows 79 - Burn Your Crosses 80 - Hail To The King

71: Endless NightsMetalizerThis time the lyrics are a bit more interesting. Lucifer and demons and shit, yeah. Music is still kinda eh. This is the third best song from Metalizer and it's still in the bottom 10. Phew. Luckily we're finally gonna take a break from it for about 10 songs. Thank god... or not? Listen:{Spoiler} Overall:{Spoiler}71 - Endless Nights 72 - Sparta 73 - Masters of the World 74 - Metalizer 75 - Thunderstorm 76 - Thundergods 77 - Speeder 78 - Shadows 79 - Burn Your Crosses 80 - Hail To The King

70: CounterstrikePrimo VictoriaAfter the tripe we've dealt with before, this song is actually pretty enjoyable. That said, it's definitely the most "meh" song off of Primo Victoria. The album as a whole doesn't have the best production ever, but this song is the weakest in that regard. The fast pace doesn't work will with the mix. Still a decent song though. Better production than the Metalizer stuff. Listen:{Spoiler} Overall:{Spoiler}70 - Counterstrike 71 - Endless Nights 72 - Sparta 73 - Masters of the World 74 - Metalizer 75 - Thunderstorm 76 - Thundergods 77 - Speeder 78 - Shadows 79 - Burn Your Crosses 80 - Hail To The King

69: Last Dying BreathThe Last StandMore from Sabaton's latest album. Second track is also second worst. Not that it's bad, but it also isn't good. Not for a band who released at least six classic albums prior. Eh. Listen:{Spoiler} Overall:{Spoiler}69 - Last Dying Breath 70 - Counterstrike 71 - Endless Nights 72 - Sparta 73 - Masters of the World 74 - Metalizer 75 - Thunderstorm 76 - Thundergods 77 - Speeder 78 - Shadows 79 - Burn Your Crosses 80 - Hail To The King
