This overview is meant to help incoming writers get familiar with the Literary Mosaic Universe, so that they do not seem so unapproachable given their nature.
......
Literary Mosaic tells the story of various detectives as they solve cases in the same vein as the great mystery writers, Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, etc. The primary detective we follow in the series is Adolf Gunnarson; a Swede living in England.
Secondary to Gunnarson, we also feature Anthony Stein, a detective who specializes in cases with seemingly "supernatural" origins.
Recently introduced is Marlena Gent; a female detective who tries to prove herself in a time before females really took up such occupations.
Each detective has a cast of supporting characters. Gunnarson's supporting cast includes:
James Hartley; a good friend who chronicles his cases. Doesn't appear all the time, but still plays a key role when he appears
Davis Gent; Scotland Yard Police Commissioner. Was quite active in the field until fairly recently; now works strictly in the office and supports Gunnarson in other ways
Michael Walton; a Scotland Yard Detective with zero respect for the Swede, citing a lack of credentials and respect for the procedures normal detectives follow
Stein's supporting cast includes:
Captain Conrad and Lieutenant Johnson; two policemen who work closely with Stein to solve cases
(Marlena's supporting cast TBD)
Though each book is self contained, there is an overarching story with recurring antagonists for Gunnarson. The recurring villains are:
Blade Syndicate; group of hitmen and criminals who are substantially more skilled than typical mobsters and street thugs. Were 15 members, now there are 11.
Elvira Revinev- skilled assassin who was caught, then escaped. Now on the lose, she is arguably the most skilled of Gunnarson's adversaries.
Irish Mob- Trying to take over the London criminal underground, they aren't as skilled as the Blade Syndicate, but they are more numerous. Ryan O'Connor leads the "London Operation" with a tight fist.
Dr. Gunther Drugg; a genius scientist whose "cocktails" could make someone do just about anything when injected. Killed in LM 8. Arguably the most dangerous of Gunnarson's rouge's gallery
(to be continued)
